\u2018I even got love from Pakistan\u2019<\/p>\n

Talking about the reactions pouring in on social media, Vivek shared how audiences are both furious at his character and impressed by his performance.\u201cInstagram has almost 2,000 comments. I\u2019m actually enjoying it… everyone is saying that watching me makes them so angry they feel like jumping into the screen and hitting me. But at the same time, they\u2019re saying my acting is very good… that I made it feel very real,\u201d he told Zee News.He added that while many comments praise his work, some can get extreme. \u201cSome people are even writing that they\u2019ll come to Pakistan and hit me… so I had to clarify, \u2018Brother, I\u2019m not Pakistani\u2014I\u2019m Indian. I\u2019m from Bijnor, from Dhampur.\u2019\u201dInterestingly, Vivek revealed that he has also been receiving appreciation from Pakistan.\u201cI\u2019ve received a lot of messages from Pakistan saying, \u2018Sir, I love you from Pakistan.\u2019 I told them, wait… we\u2019ll talk later,\u201d he said with a laugh, adding that audiences everywhere are connecting with his performance.<\/p>\n

A tough childhood and a single mother\u2019s strength<\/p>\n

Opening up about his personal life, Vivek spoke emotionally about losing his father at a young age.\u201cMy luck was such… I was just six years old when my father passed away. My mother raised me as a single parent… and I never felt a lack of anything in life,\u201d he said.He credited his confidence and positivity to his mother\u2019s upbringing. \u201cThe confidence and happiness I have in life today… it\u2019s all because of her.\u201d<\/p>\n

From Bijnor to theatre to films<\/p>\n

Vivek\u2019s journey into acting wasn\u2019t planned. Coming from a small town in Bijnor, he followed a conventional path before discovering theatre.\u201cMy life was completely normal… I studied, got a job… then someone suggested I try acting. I didn\u2019t even know what theatre was,\u201d he recalled.His first experience in theatre was far from glamorous. \u201cI got a role called \u2018the fourth villager.\u2019 I had just one line in the entire script\u2014\u2018Sir, the wells have dried up.\u2019 I got bored in three days,\u201d he laughed.But things changed when he landed a better role and began performing on stage. \u201cThe first time I performed on stage, people appreciated me… that\u2019s where my journey really began.\u201d <\/p>\n

The big break and Dhurandhar moment<\/p>\n

After years in theatre and smaller roles\u2014including a brief appearance in PK\u2014Vivek says Dhurandhar changed everything.\u201cMy life changed completely… it went far beyond what I had ever expected,\u201d he said.He also shared how even a short appearance in the trailer made a huge impact. \u201cThose 14 seconds of footage made me feel like a star… people\u2019s blood was boiling after watching it,\u201d he added.Talking about performing the hijacking scene, Vivek said, “My character is based on a real-life hijacker\u2014provoking, confident, and dangerous. We studied references deeply. The idea was to show how terrifying the situation was. When people didn\u2019t respond to \u201cBharat Mata Ki Jai,\u201d it showed fear\u2014that\u2019s what we wanted to portray.”Sharing his experience of working with the Dhurandhar team, he added, “Incredible. No ego at all. Everyone\u2014from the director to actors like R Madhavan\u2014was extremely supportive. Madhavan even suggested I perform with \u201csnake-like eyes\u201d for one scene. That became the final take.”<\/p>\n

\u2018I never stressed about work\u2019<\/p>\n

Despite the ups and downs, Vivek maintains he never chased work desperately.\u201cI never stressed about getting work. I only chose what felt right. Even if there was a six-month gap, I never felt anxious,\u201d he said.\u201cI never felt even 1% depressed. I stayed positive… and maybe this is the result of that.\u201d <\/p>\n

On controversy and cinema reflecting reality<\/p>\n

Addressing debates around films like PK and Dhurandhar, Vivek said cinema often mirrors society.\u201cFilms are a reflection of society. We show what is happening around us.
