{"id":367163,"date":"2026-03-27T01:24:08","date_gmt":"2026-03-27T01:24:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/367163\/"},"modified":"2026-03-27T01:24:08","modified_gmt":"2026-03-27T01:24:08","slug":"google-is-making-it-easier-to-import-another-ais-memory-into-gemini","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/367163\/","title":{"rendered":"Google is making it easier to import another AI\u2019s memory into Gemini"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">After Anthropic updated its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/ai-artificial-intelligence\/887885\/anthropic-claude-memory-upgrades-importing\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">tool for copying another AI\u2019s memory<\/a> into Claude earlier this month, Google Gemini is rolling out new <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.google\/innovation-and-ai\/products\/gemini-app\/switch-to-gemini-app\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cImport Memory\u201d and \u201cImport Chat History\u201d features<\/a> on desktop that can help users quickly copy over everything their current AI already knows about them. To use the \u201cImport Memory\u201d tool, users copy and paste a suggested prompt from Gemini into their previous AI, then paste the output from the previous AI into Gemini, which should get Gemini caught up on their preferences.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">The \u201cImport Chat History\u201d feature has users request an export of all of their chats from their previous AI, which they upload to Gemini in the form of a .zip file of up to 5GB. Then users can pick up those chats in Gemini from wherever they left off with their previous AI. You can also delete specific imported chat histories from the Chat option in the left-hand menu, or entire .zip file imports where they\u2019re listed under settings.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">Google announced that it\u2019s also renaming \u201cpast chats\u201d in Gemini to \u201cmemory.\u201d Import Memory and Import Chat History are rolling out to free and paid consumer Gemini accounts on desktop.
