\n\tTom Felton<\/a> felt it was \u201creally important\u201d to reach out to Lox Pratt, the actor taking on the role of Draco Malfoy<\/a> in HBO\u2019s upcoming \u201cHarry Potter<\/a>\u201d series. Felton played Draco in the original films from 2001 to 2011 and is now reprising an adult version of the role in Broadway\u2019s \u201cHarry Potter and the Cursed Child.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a new interview on Josh Horowitz\u2019s \u201cHappy Sad Confused<\/a>\u201d podcast, Felton confirmed that \u2014 like his co-stars Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint \u2014 he sent the next \u201cHarry Potter\u201d generation a note.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019ve sent word, yes,\u201d Felton replied when Horowitz asked if he\u2019d made contact with Pratt. \u201cI think it\u2019s really important. It\u2019s very different \u2014 we were entering things that don\u2019t exist; there\u2019s quite a lot of weight now. So the last thing I\u2019m gonna do is offer anything other than say, \u2018Here\u2019s my phone number. Here\u2019s my address.\u2019 To his parents as well as him, and to anyone else there.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tFelton said he\u2019s trying to steer clear of giving advice to Pratt because \u201cthis is your journey,\u201d but said: \u201cHave as much fun as possible, take as many pictures as you can, steal as many props as you can \u2014 they\u2019ll be worth a fortune. But also, if you do need a word of encouragement or questions to ask, I\u2019m there.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe \u201cHarry Potter\u201d series \u2014 which will devote a season to each book \u2014 released its first trailer<\/a> earlier this week and is gearing up for a Christmas release. The show is set to last at least a decade. When Horowitz pointed out that the new young actors are also dealing with the toxicity of social media, Felton called the notion \u201cinconceivable.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt didn\u2019t exist, did it? There was literally physical film cameras,\u201d he said. \u201cIt took me a while the other day, someone said, \u2018How were the films shot?\u2019 And I was like, \u2018Was it film?\u2019 It\u2019s like, \u2018Of course it was film.\u2019 This is in an era where the guy holding the mic boom, Tommy, was about 70, one eye open, rolls a cigarette with one hand, smokes it, while we\u2019re on a broomstick. That\u2019s how Daniel and I grew up learning quidditch. 25 years later, we\u2019re on Broadway together! That\u2019s mental.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tRadcliffe and Felton are currently performing on Broadway next door to each other. While Felton is starring in the popular \u201cHarry Potter\u201d play, Radcliffe is putting on a one-man show titled \u201cEvery Brilliant Thing.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cOf course, Daniel Radcliffe\u2019s play is only 400 meters from mine,\u201d Felton said. \u201cI\u2019m playing Draco, he\u2019s opening what I think is one of the best shows on Broadway other than ours.\u201d<\/p>\n
