There aren\u2019t many negatives for Montassib for the Haggas team \u2014 they\u2019ve only had two runners in the last fortnight for one winner. The same can be said for Karl Burke\u2019s team, and he saddles Spycatcher, but I\u2019m siding with MY MATE ALFIE for David O\u2019Meara. He wouldn\u2019t have to improve from his stable switch, and if he can run to a similar level to what he did in Ireland, he\u2019s got a great chance. He likes it at this time of year, and I\u2019m taking a chance on the younger horse to turn over the two eight-year-olds at the head of the market.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m a big believer in race fitness at this time of year, and although LAVENDER HILL MOB has had a break since December, James Owen is known for having his string very fit. This trip should be right up his street, and at the prices, he\u2019s the one I\u2019m siding with.<\/p>\n

14:25 Doncaster \u2013 Far From Dandy<\/a> (Each-Way)<\/p>\n

Stephen Thorne saddles an Irish raider in FAR FROM DANDY, and I like his profile. He was drawn in stall 1 in the Irish Lincolnshire last time, and he was awkwardly away before doing all of his best work at the finish. He\u2019s drawn in the lowest stall again, and there is a query around the pace around him, but he\u2019s capable of winning races off this mark. The draw might stop him winning, but at the prices, I can see him getting into the money.<\/p>\n

TRIPLE DOUBLE A is another I\u2019m siding with due to having fitness on his side. He steps up in trip for the Hugo Palmer team. He won in workmanlike fashion on his last start at Newcastle, but he was snug enough at the line over 1m 2f, which suggested going a little bit further would suit him. That run came off the back of a long layoff, so he should step forward from it and has every chance of following up.<\/p>\n

14:57 Doncaster \u2013 Docklands<\/a><\/p>\n

DOCKLANDS has always improved for his first run of the season, but the main market protagonists come from yards who haven\u2019t yet hit form. The more I looked at it, in this grade, he\u2019s the one to be with.<\/p>\n

15:13 Kempton \u2013 Cathedral<\/a> (Best Bet)<\/p>\n

This is a drop in class for Surve, but CATHEDRAL looks like she\u2019s still very much on the improve. David Egan comes to Kempton for the ride, leaving the Brocklesby favourite at Doncaster in the hands of Rowan Scott. She had some cracking runs at Group 1 level last season, just missing the places on three occasions. She\u2019s a cracking filly, and if she\u2019s progressed through the winter, she should go very close. She\u2019s my best bet on Saturday.<\/p>\n

15:32 Doncaster \u2013 La Botte<\/a> & Shout<\/a> (Each-Way)<\/p>\n

LA BOTTE was a big eye-catcher in the trial for this very contest, and he looks the most likely winner.<\/p>\n

SHOUT disappointed in the Britannia behind Arabian Story. He raced too keenly on that occasion, but he did win at Ascot over a mile on soft ground in September and followed that up with a solid effort behind Crown Of Oaks on British Champions Day. He can run a decent race at an each-way price.<\/p>\n
