Portiuncula Hospital has reopened a newly refurbished 29-bed surgical ward.<\/p>\n
The upgraded St John\u2019s Surgical Ward comprises seven single rooms, two semi-private rooms and four multi-bed rooms.<\/p>\n
The refurbishment includes state-of-the-art facilities, with each bed space equipped with the digital Irish National Early Warning System.<\/p>\n
This enables healthcare teams to monitor patients effectively while providing direct access to diagnostic services such as laboratory and radiology results.<\/p>\n
Hospital Manager James Keane said the redevelopment marks a major step forward in improving both the patient environment and the delivery of clinical care.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis refurbishment will provide much better accommodation for\u00a0surgical\u00a0patients while also helping staff deliver higher-quality care.<\/p>\n
The project highlights the hospital\u2019s ongoing commitment to strengthening\u00a0surgical\u00a0services at Portiuncula University Hospital and supports the objectives of the HSE Service Plan, including efforts to reduce waiting lists.\u201d<\/p>\n
