An Apprentice contestant has revealed he felt “relieved” after he was fired in an unexpected double elimination.<\/p>\n

Levi Hague was dismissed by Lord Sugar<\/a> in the most recent instalment of the programme<\/a>, alongside fellow contender Conor Galvin. Kieran McCartney also faced potential elimination but managed to escape by striking an agreement with the businessman that will see him assume project manager responsibilities next week. Should he fail, he will leave.<\/p>\n

Despite losing the opportunity to claim the \u00a3250,000 investment and Lord Sugar’s support for his venture, Levi confessed he felt “relieved” about being fired from the BBC<\/a> show, reports the Mirror<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“I weren’t shocked if I’m honest, I sort of expected it to come,” stated the candidate, who is from South Yorkshire.<\/p>\n

“Lord Sugar tends to invest in things like recruitment, trades and beauty brands, and when I came in with personalised pet cremation urns it’s quite a niche industry that a lot of people don’t really know about yet. I understood it might not be something he fully saw the potential in straight away.<\/p>\n

“So when I was fired, I wasn’t upset, I was actually quite relieved and ready to get back home to my business, my wife and my six-month-old daughter.”<\/p>\n

Conor, who hails from Cork, expressed his disappointment at exiting the competition.<\/p>\n

“If I could go back, I would argue my case to stay based on merit more,” he stated.<\/p>\n

“I would have tried to reason with Lord Sugar that I will give 100% next week and every other week as I would in the real business world.”<\/p>\n

“That is my only regret – not fighting my corner harder when I felt so defeated in the boardroom,” he continued.<\/p>\n

The instalment saw the candidates required to sell products they thought would appeal to the nation, live on TV.<\/p>\n

Dan Miller, Rothna Akhtar, Kieran, Levi and Conor pinned their hopes on a yoga mat, an exercise machine, a shoe dryer and a bracelet while Karishma Vijay, Lawrence Rosenberg, Pascha Myhill and Priyesh Bathia were convinced they could generate revenue from air purifying headphones, a water flosser and a ring.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, their attempts failed to impress Lord Sugar and his grandson Joe, who joined the TV star to assess the challenge.<\/p>\n

Addressing Levi, Lord Sugar admitted: “I was flabbergasted… I think it was diabolical.”<\/p>\n

He later said to his advisors: “It was the worst TV selling I have ever seen in this whole process, the worst. Painful.”<\/p>\n
