{"id":370406,"date":"2026-03-28T21:36:08","date_gmt":"2026-03-28T21:36:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/370406\/"},"modified":"2026-03-28T21:36:08","modified_gmt":"2026-03-28T21:36:08","slug":"woman-50s-arrested-after-discovery-of-mans-body-in-tallaght-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/370406\/","title":{"rendered":"Woman (50s) arrested after discovery of man\u2019s body in Tallaght \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">A woman in her 50s has been arrested as part of investigations into the discovery of a body in Tallaght on Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The body of the deceased, a man in his 50s, was found in the Cookstown area of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/tallaght\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/tallaght\/\">Tallaght<\/a>, Dublin 24, prompting an investigation by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/garda-siochana\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/garda-siochana\/\">An Garda S\u00edoch\u00e1na<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Garda\u00ed said on Saturday that the woman was currently detained at a Garda station in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/dublin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/dublin\/\">Dublin<\/a> area under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984, which allows garda\u00ed to hold suspects of serious crimes for up to 24 hours.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The postmortem examination on the deceased man has concluded. Its results are not being released for operational reasons, garda\u00ed said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The force appealed for witnesses to come forward with information which may help with inquiries.
