Ailish Whitty will be the next president of the Camogie Association after being elected Uachtar\u00e1n Tofa at their annual congress at the Canal Court Hotel in Newry.<\/p>\n
The Galway native, who settled in Wexford, ran unopposed and will succeed Brian Molloy in the role.<\/p>\n
Whitty has a 25-year relationship with camogie as a player, coach, and administrator.<\/p>\n
A member of Rathgarogue\/Cushinstown GAA, she served as the national coaching and games representative on Ard Chomhairle (2017\u20132020), where she successfully integrated foundation coaching across the three codes and revised intercounty juvenile competitions.<\/p>\n
She is in her third year as the Leinster delegate to Ard Chomhairle and a member of the governance sub-committee.<\/p>\n
Molloy, meanwhile, used his final congress as president to stress for people to keep faith in the integration process that seeks to align the Camogie Association, GAA and LGFA.<\/p>\n
