It\u2019s that time of year where networks reveal what shows they\u2019re kicking out and keeping around. For AMC, that means calling it quits on the Anne Rice series Talamasca: The Secret Order<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The network opted not to renew the series for season two, telling Variety<\/a> it was \u201cproud of the series and grateful for everyone involved.\u201d It\u2019s the first cancellation for the Immortal Universe, whose other installments include Interview With the Vampire, The Mayfair Witches<\/a>,\u00a0and the upcoming\u00a0Night Island<\/a>. At time of writing, AMC appears to still be committed to the franchise, which is based on author Anne Rice\u2019s fantasy horror series.<\/p>\n

Released in 2025,\u00a0Talamasca\u00a0focused on a secret society of humans that monitored supernatural creatures, similar to X-Files. The series starred Nicholas Denton, Elizabeth McGovern, and William Fichtner and ran for six episodes. Interestingly, AMC\u2019s statement went on to highlight the organization\u2019s larger importance\u2014as such, \u201cfuture expressions of the franchise\u201d could eventually feature the show\u2019s characters in some capacity.<\/p>\n

The Immortal Universe will continue on with Interview\u2019s\u00a0return in June, now rebranded to\u00a0The Vampire Lestat<\/a>. After that,\u00a0Mayfair\u00a0will return for its third season, which is expected to land on AMC sometime in early 2027.<\/p>\n
