Five people have been injured after a collision between a car and a van in Co Westmeath this afternoon.<\/p>\n
The collision on the N62 at Ballinahown happened at around 1pm.<\/p>\n
The female driver of the van, 40s, was brought to Midland Regional Hospital Mullingar with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n
The male driver of the car, late teens, was conveyed to Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore for non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n
The car’s three male passengers, 20s, also attended the same hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n
The scene has been preserved for forensic examination with local traffic diversions in place.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed have appealed for witnesses to come forward. They are particularly interested in hearing from people with dash-cam footage from the area.<\/p>\n
