Carla Ward has handed Bohemians teenager Aoibhe Brennan her maiden senior call-up for the Republic of Ireland’s World Cup qualifying double-header against Poland next month.<\/p>\n
The Ireland head coach has named a 24-strong contingent for the games, with Jess Ziu and Lily Agg earning recalls.<\/p>\n
The Girls in Green will face the Poles in Gdansk on 14 April before hosting their opponents at Aviva Stadium four days later.<\/p>\n
With the Irish side having suffered narrow defeats to France and the Netherlands in their opening two qualifiers earlier this month, the games against Poland have taken on a crucial in the battle to finish third in the group.<\/p>\n
Ireland U19 international Brennan has been rewarded for an impressive start to the SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division season, with Ward having watched the 18-year-old in action when Bohs defeated Cork City on 21 March.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Agg and Ziu are back in the squad for the first time since 2024 and 2025, respectively, after overcoming long-term injuries.<\/p>\n
