{"id":373149,"date":"2026-03-30T15:25:09","date_gmt":"2026-03-30T15:25:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/373149\/"},"modified":"2026-03-30T15:25:09","modified_gmt":"2026-03-30T15:25:09","slug":"mistral-ai-raises-830m-in-debt-to-set-up-a-data-center-near-paris","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/373149\/","title":{"rendered":"Mistral AI raises $830M in debt to set up a data center near Paris"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"speakable-summary\" class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">French lab Mistral AI has raised $830 million in debt to build a new data center near Paris that will be powered by Nvidia chips, according to reports from <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/finance\/frances-mistral-raises-830-million-debt-ai-data-centre-build-up-2026-03-30\/\" target=\"_blank\">Reuters<\/a> and <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2026\/03\/30\/mistral-ai-paris-data-center-cluster-debt-financing.html\" target=\"_blank\">CNBC<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mistral first announced plans to build <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2025-02-10\/mistral-ceo-plans-to-raise-more-funds-to-back-ai-data-center\" target=\"_blank\">a data center last year<\/a>, when its CEO Arthur Mensch said it would explore different financing options in February 2025. It plans to complete building the data center in Bruyeres-le-Chatel and make it operational in the second quarter of 2026, Reuters reported on Monday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mistral did not immediately return a request seeking confirmation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last month, the company said it would invest <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2026\/02\/11\/mistral-ai-infrastructure-sweden.html\" target=\"_blank\">$1.4 billion in Sweden<\/a> to build out AI infrastructure, including data centers. Mistral said it aims to deploy 200 megawatts of compute capacity across Europe by 2027.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cScaling our infrastructure in Europe is critical to empower our customers and to ensure AI innovation and autonomy remain at the heart of Europe.
