It was the storyline that dominated last year\u2019s Love Island series.<\/p>\n

Not who was falling in love with who, or which couples would go the distance once they left the villa.<\/p>\n

Instead, it was the bitter feud between the female cast members that had viewers hooked and, at times, completely divided.<\/p>\n

One of the biggest dramas in the villa was the rift between two groups: Megan Moore, Helena Ford, Angel Swift and Lauren Wood on one side\u00a0\u2013 and Shakira<\/a> Khan, Yasmin Pettet and Toni Laites on the other.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Week after week, tensions simmered, snide comments were exchanged and the atmosphere didn’t match the sun-soaked paradise setting of the ITV2<\/a> show.<\/p>\n

When the Islanders finally returned to the real world, many of the girls were quick to downplay the drama.<\/p>\n

They insisted that while there had been a divide, \u2018the feud wasn\u2019t as bad as it looked\u2019 on screen.<\/p>\n

But, months on, it appears the cracks have only deepened and any hopes of reconciliation seem further away than ever.<\/p>\n

In fact, insiders now claim the situation has grown so frosty that the girls can\u2019t even bring themselves to exchange basic pleasantries when they find themselves in the same room.<\/p>\n

That was certainly the case at an event celebrating the launch of Canadian fashion brand Garage on Oxford Street in London on Thursday night.<\/p>\n

The intimate gathering, held in the brand\u2019s new two-storey flagship store, brought together around 50 influencers, press and reality stars for an evening of networking, photo opportunities and showcasing the latest collection of loungewear and gym pieces.<\/p>\n

On the surface, the setting was relaxed with a health juices bar, curated snack stations and corners set up for Instagram-worthy photoshoots.<\/p>\n

But beneath the glossy exterior, the atmosphere quickly turned tense as familiar faces from last summer\u2019s villa began to arrive.<\/p>\n

Among those in attendance were Shakira, Megan, Angel and another Love Island star, Megan Forte Clarke.<\/p>\n

As the room filled up in the early evening, it became clear that old tensions hadn\u2019t been left behind in Majorca.<\/p>\n

Shakira appeared determined to avoid any interaction with Megan Moore or Angel altogether.<\/p>\n

At one point, she was seen deliberately slipping behind the group to reach a photo spot, carefully manoeuvring around the room without making eye contact or acknowledging their presence.<\/p>\n

Another awkward moment unfolded on the staircase, where members of the opposing groups passed each other in close proximity, yet failed to exchange so much as a glance, let alone a greeting.<\/p>\n

Onlookers described the tension as \u2018palpable\u2019, with several guests noting how striking it was given the group\u2019s shared history.<\/p>\n

\u2018Megan [Forte Clarke] was the only one who seemed able to move between the two sides,\u2019 one source revealed.<\/p>\n

\u2018She was exactly the same in the villa, never fully picking a side and keeping things neutral.\u2019<\/p>\n

The source added: \u2018They spent eight weeks together doing a once-in-a-lifetime experience, so it is shocking to see their relationship is so frosty they can\u2019t even say hello to each other at events.\u2019<\/p>\n

Another insider echoed the sentiment, saying: \u2018It\u2019s so awkward and also rude that they can\u2019t even look the same way at one another. There\u2019s definitely a lot of unresolved tension there and probably a fair bit of jealousy, too.\u2019<\/p>\n

For fans of the show, the ongoing feud is perhaps hardly surprising.<\/p>\n

Despite attempts from some Islanders to play down the drama post-show, Toni, Shakira and Yasmin openly acknowledged the tension after leaving the villa, revealing that the atmosphere was often strained and uncomfortable behind the scenes.<\/p>\n

\u2018There were definitely moments where it didn\u2019t feel like a happy villa,\u2019 Toni admitted at the time. \u2018You could cut the tension with a knife.\u2019<\/p>\n

Yasmin, who entered the show as a bombshell, also spoke about feeling unwelcome at times, suggesting that cliques had already formed and were difficult to break into.<\/p>\n

Viewers quickly picked up on the dynamic, with many branding it the \u2018worst division\u2019 in Love Island history.<\/p>\n

Social media was flooded with debates over who was in the right, with fans fiercely backing their favourite groups and dissecting every interaction.<\/p>\n

And it\u2019s clear that not everyone has been able, or willing, to move on.<\/p>\n

Shakira, in particular, has been outspoken about where she stands.<\/p>\n

\u2018Guys, right, listen, I\u2019m just going to say something to you right now, I couldn\u2019t give a flying f*** about some of the things that you\u2019re commenting,\u2019 she said.<\/p>\n

\u2018You need to stop, you need to let it go, it\u2019s been months. Not everyone is friends with everyone and that is OK.\u2019<\/p>\n

In the wake of the Garage event, the divide was evident once again.<\/p>\n

Shakira and Megan Forte Clarke were later seen heading out for dinner with Yasmin and fellow Islander Alima Gagigo, continuing their close-knit friendship away from the spotlight of the launch.<\/p>\n

Noticeably absent, however, were Angel and her clique.<\/p>\n

The fracture lines extend beyond just the girls.<\/p>\n

During the show, Shakira\u2019s boyfriend Harry Cooksley often acted as a bridge between the groups, maintaining friendships with Megan Moore and her partner Dejon while also growing close to Shakira\u2019s allies.<\/p>\n

But even those connections appear to have dissolved since leaving the villa.<\/p>\n

Harry has since unfollowed both Megan and Dejon on social media, a move he later addressed during a livestream with former Islander Tyrique Hyde.<\/p>\n

\u2018It\u2019s the most obvious unfollow,\u2019 he said bluntly. \u2018I don\u2019t speak to these people. I\u2019ve come out and I don\u2019t speak to them. I don\u2019t see them. I don\u2019t go to the same events as they do. Like you said, it\u2019s different now.\u2019<\/p>\n

Defending his decision, he added: \u2018I\u2019m not changing up. I\u2019m just saying, I know what I\u2019m doing. I\u2019ve come out, I\u2019ve got the right people around me. I knew exactly where I was going and what I\u2019m doing. I\u2019m not your pal. What are you talking about? It\u2019s the most obvious unfollow.\u2019<\/p>\n

As time goes on, it seems increasingly unlikely that the rift between the former Islanders will be resolved any time soon.<\/p>\n

While reality TV feuds often fade once the cameras stop rolling, this one appears to have taken on a life of its own.<\/p>\n
