Welsh singer Tom Jones will launch new Kildare venue Live at Palmerstown House<\/a> with a concert this August.<\/p>\n

Jones (85), whose hits include It’s Not Unusual, What’s New Pussycat?, Delilah, and Green, Green Grass of Home, will make his return to Ireland along with musical guests on 9 August, with tickets priced \u20ac76.40 on sale this Thursday 2 April at 10am via ticketmaster.<\/p>\n

Palmerstown House will launch as a venue for large-scale live events this summer with a line-up of international musical acts with the aim of turning it into a key destination for live shows during the busy summer concert season.<\/p>\n

Jerry Power, Comer Group Hotels, Group General Manager, said, “We’ve seen growing interest in Palmerstown House Estate as a location for live events, and we\u2019re really looking forward to bringing a series of high-quality shows to the site.<\/p>\n

Jones\u2019 career has spanned over six decades with his recent albums, Surrounded By Time, Long Lost Suitcase, Spirit In The Room, and Praise & Blame, signaling an artistic rebirth.<\/p>\n

Born in the mining town of Pontypridd, South Wales, Jones quit school at an early age, working various odd jobs before getting his start as a member of a local band called The Senators, later forming his own group, Tom Jones and the Squires, gigging in clubs and pubs around the local area.<\/p>\n

In the early 1960s, he signed with Decca Records in London, kickstarting a successful and career that has seen him collaborate with Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Van Morrison, Dolly Parton and Ed Sheeran.<\/p>\n
