It wasn\u2019t a \u201cvery good thing\u201d when Martha Stewart<\/a> broke her big toe at a New York Knicks game last May.<\/p>\n

The lifestyle guru was sitting courtside at Madison Square Garden when the home team\u2019s point guard, Jalen Brunson, dove for a ball out of bounds \u2014 and \u201ccrashed\u201d right into 84-year-old Stewart, who was wearing open-toe sandals.<\/p>\n

As her big toe throbbed in pain, she knew immediately the 190-pound athlete had broken the bone.<\/p>\n

Nearly a year later, she recently got the chance to confront Brunson on his podcast, Roommates Show, cohosted by his teammate Josh Hart.<\/p>\n

The two-time NBA All-Star was deeply apologetic, although admitted he didn\u2019t remember the moment, which went down as the Knicks squared off against the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals.<\/p>\n

As Stewart recounted, Brunson not only landed on her, he even sat on her lap.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou jumped up really fast. And I remember saying to you, \u2018It\u2019s okay.\u2019 You had no idea that you had hurt me. I didn\u2019t say you hurt me, but I said, \u2018It\u2019s okay.\u2019 It wasn\u2019t okay at all.\u201d<\/p>\n

After the game \u2014 which went into overtime, much to her painful chagrin \u2014 Stewart headed straight to the Hospital for Special Surgery on Manhattan\u2019s Upper East Side to have her toe checked out.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019ve named it the \u2018Stewart-Brunson fracture,\u2019\u201d she joked. \u201cI have an X-ray, I\u2019m going to leave you a picture of it… it was actually a break, so anyways, it\u2019s better now\u2026 It took one year to heal.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stewart previously told the story<\/a> on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and revealed she actually ran into the NBA star\u2019s parents, Knicks assistant coach Rick Brunson and his wife Sandra, in the Hamptons. And she couldn\u2019t help but tell them what their son did. \u201cThey were laughing,\u201d she told Fallon. \u201cThey thought it was so funny.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brunson now adds a little more to the story: His dad FaceTimed him to virtually apologize to Stewart. He later also sent her a basketball, which she gave to her grandson.<\/p>\n

In the end, there\u2019s no bad blood \u2014 and Stewart learned a valuable lesson.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s my fault for wearing open-toe shoes to a basketball game,\u201d she reasoned. \u201cI look back at it as just something silly, stupid, and funny. It was stupid of me.\u201d<\/p>\n
