{"id":374325,"date":"2026-03-31T07:48:10","date_gmt":"2026-03-31T07:48:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/374325\/"},"modified":"2026-03-31T07:48:10","modified_gmt":"2026-03-31T07:48:10","slug":"senior-hurling-duo-named-in-limerick-team-to-play-cork-in-munster-u20-championship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/374325\/","title":{"rendered":"Senior hurling duo named in Limerick team to play Cork in Munster U20 Championship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ppsfinancial.ie\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/pps_logo-1774882959024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"296\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>THE Limerick team has been named for their round one tie in the Munster U20 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.limerickleader.ie\/section\/244\/gaa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Hurling<\/a> Championship on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The Evan Loftus managed Limerick travel to SuperValu Pairc Ui Chaoimh to play Cork in the first of four guaranteed group games in the provincial championship.<\/p>\n<p>Limerick had a bye in the opening round of fixtures, where Cork lost to Tipperary 1-21 to 0-22 in Thurles.<\/p>\n<p>For the trip Leeside, Limerick&#8217;s team includes two members of John Kiely&#8217;s inter-county senior panel &#8211; Matthew Fitzgerald and Hugh Flanagan, who have both seen action, including starting roles, during the Allianz Hurling League campaign.<\/p>\n<p>READ NEXT:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.limerickleader.ie\/news\/hurling\/2050393\/former-limerick-hurler-guides-sligo-to-allianz-league-success.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Former Limerick hurler guides Sligo to Allianz Hurling League success<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Also in the starting team is Ballybrown&#8217;s James Coughlan, who is also part of the 36-man Limerick senior hurling panel this season but he hasn&#8217;t seen action in the league.<\/p>\n<p>The team is captained from midfield by Conor Ryan.<\/p>\n<p>Manager Evan Loftus is joined in the backroom team by lead coach Tadhg Flynn and selectors Shane Mullane, Aidan O\u2019Rahilly, Evan Condon and Danny O\u2019Sullivan.<\/p>\n<p>Seven of this Limerick line-up remains from the side that played Cork in this competition last year &#8211; John Murray, Jack Cosgrave, Aidan O&#8217;Connell,\u00a0Matthew Fitzgerald, Hugh Flanagan, Robbie O\u2019Farrell and Dara Ferland.
