The Wachowskis\u2019 2008 cult classic Speed Racer<\/a> will be available for purchase digitally in 4K Ultra HD and on 4K UHD Blu-ray Disc on May 19, 2026, with pre-orders open now. <\/p>\n

The release included a remastered version of the movie as well as plenty of bonus content, including the featurette \u201cFast \/ Future \/ Family: Speed Racer\u201d wherein the directors recall making the film. <\/p>\n

Warner Bros. Pictures, in partnership with Flashback Cinema, will also present special theatrical screenings of Speed Racer the week of April 25th in 225 locations across the U.S. <\/p>\n

The live-action Speed Racer was, of course, based on Tatsuo Yoshida\u2019s classic anime series<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Emile Hirsch played the title role opposite Christina Ricci as Speed\u2019s girlfriend Trixie, John Goodman and Susan Sarandon as his parents, and Matthew Fox as the mysterious Racer X. <\/p>\n
