He was known across the industry for playing the long game rather than chasing trends or quickly expanding.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Tributes from his peers speak to both his professional legacy and personal charm. Gina Murphy of nearby Hugo\u2019s Restaurant described him on RIP.ie as \u201ca wonderful restaurateur and a stalwart of the Dublin dining scene. Always a gentleman, and to a fault, impeccably dressed\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Robert Doggett of Trocadero, also in Dublin 2, echoed that sentiment, calling Canny \u201ca man of great vision\u201d.
