Weather warnings are likely to be issued in the coming days.<\/p>\n
Met \u00c9ireann has issued an advisory for all of Ireland over Easter weekend, amidst fears of “stormy” and “damaging” weather.<\/p>\n
The alert is scheduled to take effect at 12am on Good Friday (3 April) and last until 12am on Tuesday (7 April).<\/p>\n
“Unsettled and mixed over Easter with a mobile Atlantic flow affecting Ireland,” the advisory reads.<\/p>\n
“Windy or possibly stormy in places later Saturday.<\/p>\n
“Potential for some severe or damaging west to southwest gusts.”<\/p>\n
On top of this, Met \u00c9ireann said that coastal flooding is “likely”, especially around high tide times and in exposed, low-lying locations along the Atlantic coastal counties.<\/p>\n
“High astronomical tides (Spring Tides) coinciding with storm surge and persistent onshore winds will further increase the risk of coastal flooding,” the advisory continues.<\/p>\n
“Areas along the west and north coasts are particularly vulnerable.<\/p>\n
“Strong onshore winds combined with high waves may lead to wave overtopping and flooding in low-lying and exposed coastal areas.”<\/p>\n
Met \u00c9ireann also said that weather warnings are likely to be issued in the coming days.<\/p>\n
As it stands, the Irish meteorological service’s forecast for Easter Sunday reads: “Current indications show a cool and breezy day with sunny spells and showers, some of which could be heavy. <\/p>\n
