A woman in her seventies was seriously injured after being struck by a bus on Patrick St in Cork on Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed and emergency services were alerted shortly after 2.30pm and the woman was taken to Cork University Hospital, where she was treated for what have been described as serious injuries.<\/p>\n
The incident, which occurred on Cork\u2019s main thoroughfare by Lavitt\u2019s Quay, caused considerable disruption in the city, with the road closed for a period.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed in Anglesea St are asking for anyone with information to call 021 4522000 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.<\/p>\n
In a statement, the garda press office said on Wednesday evening: \u201cShortly after 2.30pm, on Wednesday April 1, garda\u00ed and emergency services were alerted after a female pedestrian (70s) was struck by a bus on Patrick St, Cork.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe injured woman was taken to CUH for treatment of serious injuries. The scene was examined and has since reopened to traffic,\u201d a spokesperson said.<\/p>\n
