The BBC has released the new trailer for Twenty Twenty Six, the latest mockumentary following Hugh Bonneville’s hapless lead character<\/a> who somehow keeps landing high profile jobs surrounded by equally hopeless teams.<\/p>\n

The official synopsis explains: “The stakes are high when planning the biggest football event in the world… and with Ian Fletcher as the new ‘Director of Integrity’. what could go wrong?<\/p>\n

“A new six-part fictional comedy series brought to us by the team behind W1A and Twenty Twelve. The BBC’s former Head of Values, Ian Fletcher, has been sent to Miami in a key new role for the biggest football event in the world.”<\/p>\n

The trailer shows us that he’s once again out of his depth, working with video calls that don’t want to work, a group of unimpressed Americans, and worst of… Will is back.<\/p>\n

Hugh Skinner’s former intern turned Ian’s PA might be the most inept character in the franchise, yet he has a habit of getting people out of tough situations by accident. Will he somehow save Ian’s skin yet again?<\/p>\n

David Tennant is back as the narrator too, while new cast members include Marli Siu, Nicole Sadie Sawyerr, Joe Hewetson, Erin Kellyman, Nick Blood, Jimena Larraguivel, Stephen Kunken and Chelsey Crisp.<\/p>\n

And we don’t have long to wait for the new show, as it premieres next week.<\/p>\n

“It’s been absolutely ages since I played Will in W1A,” Skinner previously said. “He’s still on the whole, completely useless and I’m thrilled to be having another go. It’s been a complete joy being back with the cast and crew, old and new.”<\/p>\n

Creator John Morton added: “I’m thrilled and hugely grateful to the BBC for giving me the chance to follow Ian again, this time all the way to Miami, and I literally can’t wait to see what happens.”<\/p>\n

Twenty Twenty Six begins on Wednesday, 8 April on BBC Two and iPlayer. Both Twenty Twelve and W1A are also available on the service.<\/p>\n
