{"id":377679,"date":"2026-04-02T04:33:08","date_gmt":"2026-04-02T04:33:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/377679\/"},"modified":"2026-04-02T04:33:08","modified_gmt":"2026-04-02T04:33:08","slug":"four-goal-cork-breeze-past-limerick","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/377679\/","title":{"rendered":"Four-goal Cork breeze past Limerick"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On a week when their senior counterparts will meet in an Allianz League Divison 1A final, Cork got the better of Limerick in their Fulfil Munster Under 20 Hurling Championship clash on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Cork won out by a 4-18 to 0-21 scoreline at Supervalu P\u00e1irc U\u00ed Chaoimh, with first-half goals from Barry O&#8217;Flynn and Barry Walsh providing the platform for the Rebels who led 2-11 to 0-11 at the interval.<\/p>\n<p>Walsh scored a penalty on 40 minutes to extend the advantage, before Johnny Murphy added a fourth in front of a 2,924 attendance.<\/p>\n<p>There were no goals at Cappoquin Logistics Fraher Field as Tipperary edged to a 0-16 to 0-15 win over Waterford, with Mark Hartley missing a late free that would have levelled it up for the D\u00e9ise.<\/p>\n<p>Waterford also saw a Davy Comerford penalty saved in a result which allowed Tipp to make it two wins from two in the provincial championship, having <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rte.ie\/sport\/hurling\/2026\/0325\/1565240-u20-tobins-haul-helps-tipp-edge-out-cork-in-opener\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">beaten Cork last week<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Cormac McKeown of Louth celebrates after the Dalata Hotel Group Leinster U20 Football Championship Round 2 match between Dublin and Louth at Parnell Park in Dublin.\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/002427fd-614.jpg\"\/><br \/>\nLouth&#8217;s Cormac McKeown celebrates<\/p>\n<p>Louth were 2-13 to 1-13 winners over Dublin in Group 1 of the Dalata Hotel Group Leinster Under 20 Football Championship.<\/p>\n<p>Donach Magee helped himself to a late goal for the Dubs but the damage had already been done thanks to Adam Gillespie&#8217;s penalty and a Padraic Tinnelly goal earlier in the half for Louth.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Westmeath beat Wexford 1-14 to 2-08 with Will Scahill contributing 1-02 for the visiting side at Chadwick&#8217;s Wexford Park.<\/p>\n<p>In Group 2, Longford defeated Carlow 2-20 to 1-13, while Meath saw off Laois by a comfortable 3-12 to 0-10 margin.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere in Group 3, Kildare earned a five-point victory over Offaly, winning 1-17 to 1-12.<\/p>\n<p>In the Dalata Hotel Group Ulster Under-20 Football Championship, Shane Callaghan proved Donegal&#8217;s hero at Celtic Park, as the visitors edged out Derry by 1-12 to 1-11.<\/p>\n<p>The sides were level at 1-06 apiece at the interval, but it was Donegal who had established a two-point buffer heading into stoppage time.<\/p>\n<p>Ger Dillon&#8217;s two-pointer had looked like earning the Oak Leafers a draw, only for Dillon to decide the encounter with the last kick of the game.<\/p>\n<p>Monaghan finished with a flourish to stretch away from Antrim and record a 1-16 to 0-10 win at Dunsilly.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"24 June 2023; Max McGinnity of Monaghan in action against Daniel Kirby of Kerry during the Electric Ireland GAA All-Ireland Football Minor Championship Semi-Final match between Kerry and Monaghan at Glenisk O'Connor Park in Tullamore, Offaly.
