\n\tLondon mayor Sadiq Khan has issued a response to Wireless Fest\u2019s<\/a> booking of Ye (formerly Kanye West<\/a>) as a headliner for three nights at the 2026 festival.<\/p>\n

\n\tKhan addressed Ye\u2019s return to Wireless through a spokesperson on Wednesday (April 1), claiming that City Hall had no involvement in a decision that is \u201cnot reflective of London\u2019s values.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe are clear that the past comments and actions of this artist are offensive and wrong, and are simply not reflective of London\u2019s values,\u201d a spokesperson told Complex. <\/a>\u201cThis was a decision taken by the festival organizers and not one that City Hall is involved in.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWest will perform at the London festival in Finsbury Park for three nights (July 10-July 12) in his first Wireless appearance since 2014. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe U.K.\u2019s Jewish Leadership Council<\/a> called the festival\u2019s decision to book Ye \u201cdeeply irresponsible.\u201d \u201cThe UK Jewish community is facing record levels of antisemitism, including a terrorist attack in Manchester, the attack on ambulances in Golders Green and foiled plots which would have killed many more,\u201d a spokesperson for the Council told Billboard.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Chicago native is working his way back from a string of antisemitic remarks and hate speech in recent years that included selling t-shirts with swastikas and releasing a song titled \u201cHeil Hitler.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tEarlier this year, he took out a full-page ad in the Wall Street Journal apologizing<\/a> for his actions to the Jewish and Black communities as West looks to be entering a new chapter of life. Ye also separately met with a rabbi. <\/a><\/p>\n

\n\tOn the music front, Yeezy released his Bully album<\/a> on March 28, and he\u2019ll be making his return to the stage in the U.S. on Wednesday night (April 1) with the first of two SoFi Stadium shows in Los Angeles. <\/p>\n
