<\/p>\nA weather advisory has been issued for Ireland over Easter as a “mobile Atlantic flow” is set for the country, with the potential to bring serious winds and rain<\/p>\n

Met Eireann has issued a Weather Advisory for the coming days, as stormy conditions are due to land this weekend.<\/a><\/p>\n The national meteorological service<\/a> issued the weather advisory for all of Ireland, and is in place from midnight on Friday, April 3 through to midnight next Tuesday, April 7. This may put a stop to some outdoor Easter activities planned.<\/p>\n There is the potential for “disruptive winds”<\/a> and Met Eireann<\/a> may issue higher level weather warnings closer to the time, said one forecaster. Cathal Nolan of Ireland’s Weather Channel <\/a>highlighted that the potential storm is “one to watch.”<\/p>\n If a named storm is announced, it will be called Storm Dave.<\/a> No named storm has been called at this time.<\/p>\n “There is the potential for some stormy conditions as we go through the second half of Saturday into the early hours of Sunday morning,” said Nolan in an update via Facebook<\/a>. He said that in forecast charts, a deep system is situating itself just off the north coast of Ireland.<\/p>\n “That would mean the risk of gale force winds or indeed storm force winds into parts of West and North Connacht and indeed into much of Ulster. As we go through the evening on Saturday into Saturday night, the early hours of Sunday morning, potentially disruptive winds, and the potential exists for higher level weather<\/a> warnings.”<\/p>\n “It’s early days still, the system could very well still track further to the north or might not deepen sufficiently in time in order for us to get the brunt of the winds, but it is one worth watching because it has the potential to bring some disruptive conditions”<\/p>\n The full 2025\/26 list of storm names is Amy, Bram, Chandra, Dave, Eddie, Fionnuala, Gerard, Hannah, Isla, Janna, Kasia, Lilith, Marty, Nico, Oscar, Patrick, Ruby, Stevie, Tadhg, Violet, and Wubbo.<\/p>\n According to Met Eireann’s advisory, there will be unsettled and mixed weather over Easter with a mobile Atlantic flow affecting Ireland. Windy or possibly stormy in places later Saturday.<\/p>\n The impacts include:<\/p>\n \u2022 Potential for some severe or damaging west to southwest gusts.\u2022 Coastal flooding is likely, especially around high tide times and in exposed, low-lying locations along the Atlantic coastal counties.\u2022 High astronomical tides (Spring Tides) coinciding with storm surge and persistent onshore winds will further increase the risk of coastal flooding. Areas along the west and north coasts are particularly vulnerable.\u2022 Strong onshore winds combined with high waves may lead to wave overtopping and flooding in low-lying and exposed coastal areas.Warnings are likely to be issued.
