The surviving members of The Cranberries have been recalling their late front woman Dolores O’Riordan ahead of an upcoming re-issue of their debut album.<\/p>\n

The Limerick band\u2019s first album, Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We?, was released in 1993 and it became a sleeper hit before going on to sell six million copies worldwide.<\/p>\n

A deluxe edition will be released on 22 May with bonus content including Spanish versions of singles Linger and Dreams, new stereo mixes by the album\u2019s producer Stephen Street, and expanded liner notes.<\/p>\n

Speaking about Dolores, who passed away in 2018 aged 46<\/a>, the band\u2019s guitarist Noel Hogan said, “The rest of us were happy to hang out in the background, but Dolores really embraced stardom.<\/p>\n

“Everybody talked about how at our early gigs she\u2019d stare at the floor or the ceiling because she was nervous, but she very quickly learned how to fill the stage and work a crowd, no matter how big it was.<\/p>\n

“Dolores had a wildness and an attitude – ‘This is who I am, take it or leave it!\u2019 – which people loved.”<\/p>\n

Speaking about the band\u2019s whirlwind success, Hogan added, “We come from a small town in Ireland where things like that didn\u2019t happen, so it was fairytale material.<\/p>\n

“Flying to L.A. to make a video and Michael Stipe visiting the set; sell-out gigs; limos collecting us from the hotel\u2026 we just soaked it all up.<\/p>\n

Drummer Fergal Lawler added, “It seems like it wasn’t so long ago because we all have vivid memories of that wonderful time.<\/p>\n

“We went through a few false starts before we finally got to begin recording with Stephen Street in a cozy little studio, Windmill Lane 2, just off Stephen’s Green in Dublin. We knew Steve was going to do a great job of capturing ‘The Cranberries sound’.<\/p>\n
