A 47-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Robbie Lawlor, the gangland criminal shot dead in Belfast.<\/p>\n
The man is wanted in Northern Ireland and was arrested in Dublin today on foot of an extradition warrant from the PSNI.<\/p>\n
Officers from the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation, supported by armed garda\u00ed, arrested the man at his home in north Dublin as part of a joint investigation with the PSNI.<\/p>\n
He is being detained at a garda station in the city and is due before the High Court tomorrow morning.<\/p>\n
A violent and dangerous criminal, Robbie Lawlor was shot dead in the Ardoyne area of north Belfast almost six years ago, on 4 April 2020.<\/p>\n
The 36-year-old was heavily involved in the Drogheda feud and is believed to have travelled to Northern Ireland because he feared he was going to be attacked<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed identified Lawlor as the person responsible for, among other killings, the murder of Keane Mulready-Woods.<\/p>\n
The 17-year-old was lured to a house in the Rathmullan estate in Drogheda, murdered and his remains dismembered and disposed of around Dublin and Louth.<\/p>\n
Five other men, including Lawlor\u2019s brother-in-law Stephen Carberry have since been jailed for their roles in the murder.<\/p>\n
The PSNI has been investigating the murder of Robbie Lawlor with the assistance of An Garda S\u00edoch\u00e1na and identified the 47-year-old Dublin man as a suspect in the case.<\/p>\n
