\u2060A federal judge in the US has dismissed most of actress Blake Lively’s claims \u200cin \u2060her lawsuit accusing director and co-star Justin Baldoni of sexual harassment in connection with the \u200cfilming of their \u20602024 \u200cromantic drama It Ends with \u2060Us<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The \u200cdecision was issued by US District \u2060Judge Lewis Liman in \u2060Manhattan.<\/p>\n

It followed more than a year of acrimonious litigation over the film, in which Lively and Baldoni co-starred and which Baldoni directed.<\/p>\n

Lawyers for Lively and Baldoni did not immediately respond to requests for comment.<\/p>\n

Judge Liman dismissed Lively’s sexual \u200charassment claims against Baldoni and \u2060other defendants on jurisdictional grounds, saying she had sued under a California law but the alleged wrongful conduct took place elsewhere.<\/p>\n

The judge said Lively may pursue a retaliation claim against Baldoni’s production company Wayfarer Studios, as well as a contract claim and an aiding and abetting \u200cclaim against various defendants.<\/p>\n

Lively’s case has been closely followed in Hollywood.<\/p>\n

It has drawn in famous people like singer Taylor \u2060Swift, model Gigi Hadid, and actor Hugh Jackman, all of whom, according \u200cto Lively, might have information supporting her claims.<\/p>\n

In December, Judge Liman set an 18 May \u200ctrial date, pending his decision on whether to let Lively’s case go forward.<\/p>\n

Lively, 38, sued Baldoni, Wayfarer, and others in December 2024, seeking unspecified damages for alleged harassment, defamation, invasion of privacy, \u2060and violations of federal and state civil rights laws.<\/p>\n

She alleged that the defendants created \u2060a sexually charged atmosphere during the film’s production, and then allegedly schemed to silence her and others from speaking out about the hostile environment they created.<\/p>\n

Baldoni, 42, countered that he resolved Lively’s concerns as soon as she raised them, and that he was entitled to hire a crisis management firm after Lively began disparaging \u200chim publicly.<\/p>\n
