{"id":379207,"date":"2026-04-03T01:41:13","date_gmt":"2026-04-03T01:41:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/379207\/"},"modified":"2026-04-03T01:41:13","modified_gmt":"2026-04-03T01:41:13","slug":"limerick-service-station-reopens-10-months-after-it-was-torched-in-arson-attack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/379207\/","title":{"rendered":"Limerick service station reopens 10 months after it was torched in arson attack"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A LIMERICK filling station which was gutted in an arson attack last year has now reopened fully, some\u00a0 10 months later.<\/p>\n<p>Inver Service Station, Old Cork Road, situated on the outskirts of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.limerickleader.ie\/limerickleader.ie\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Limerick<\/a> city, was badly damaged after it was torched by unknown culprits in the early hours of bank holiday Monday, June 2, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Limerick Fire and Rescue Service crews bravely entered the highly dangerous and flammable situation and extinguished the blaze last year.<\/p>\n<p>Firefighters spent around two hours at the scene and made the area safe for a technical examination to be carried out by garda forensic investigators.<\/p>\n<p>After the technical examination, a garda spokesperson said it is being treated as \u201can incident of criminal damage by fire\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>READ NEXT:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.limerickleader.ie\/news\/business\/2051789\/global-superstars-among-new-investors-in-wearables-company-with-strong-limerick-presence.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Global superstars among new investors in wearables company with strong Limerick presence<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Following a follow-up media query from the Limerick Leader, a garda spokesperson said this week: \u201cThe investigation is ongoing at this time.
