The Block<\/a>\u2019s controversial duo Han and Can<\/a> once again found themselves at the centre of the drama in Monday night\u2019s episode when a texting scandal erupted with their old builder, Ben. The West Australian couple decided to sack Ben in week 7<\/a>, despite winning the room reveal the previous week<\/a>, and continue the rest of the season with their new builder, Shan, and his team of apprentices.<\/p>\n

However, much to their surprise, Ben made an unexpected return to The Block when House 4\u2019s Sonny and Alicia<\/a> recruited him to help complete this week\u2019s rooms. Han admitted to producers in her piece-to-camera interview that she was \u201cshocked\u201d to see Ben back on site after \u201cthe way he spoke to [her]\u201d via text.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe texts that we received after sending some lovely texts were quite gross, actually,\u201d she said, adding that they were \u201chighly upsetting\u201d.<\/p>\n

Channel 9 then shared a snippet of Han and Ben\u2019s text exchange two weeks earlier, in which he insulted their new builder, Shan.<\/p>\n

Shan tells Yahoo Lifestyle that while he was unaware of the insult before watching the episode, he has no hard feelings towards Ben.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t get involved in drama; you can\u2019t be everyone\u2019s cup of tea,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t carry feelings around weighing me down. I wish Ben the best in the future, and that\u2019s about it, not much to say really.\u201d<\/p>\n

What did the texts say?<\/p>\n

When approached by the show\u2019s producers in Monday night\u2019s episode to hear his side of the story, Ben explained that he had received a \u201clong-winded text\u201d from Han apologising for letting him go.<\/p>\n

The message mentioned being \u201cstrapped for cash\u201d, with Han saying that she \u201cgenuinely loves\u201d Ben and would love to see him again soon. She also wrote that she hadn\u2019t been able to locate one of his tools on site, but offered to buy one with her own money to replace it.<\/p>\n

Here’s the full text from her:<\/p>\n

\u201cHey Benny. Hope you had a good weekend. Missing you loads. Cried like a little sissy girl yesterday when they were asking me in interviews about you.<\/p>\n

“I was thinking about all the late nights and the laughs we had and that night we painted whiskers on and it killed me.<\/p>\n

I really need you to know the decision for you not to come in for kitchen week wasn\u2019t something we wanted to do at all it’s literally just came down to budget and being strapped for cash and not enough hands up front in the early days of the week and I really hope you can come back at some point for a few things here and there.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf we had endless money I would have you by my side every day.<\/p>\n

“I genuinely love you and I appreciate you and everything you have done so much. We went through so many highs and lows together and smashed it just you and I for the first 6 weeks.<\/p>\n

“I found your hole saw kit and your jumper but the multi hasn’t turned up yet so let me know which one you want and I’ll buy one out of my own money and return it to you.<\/p>\n

“If you’re keen I would love to come and see you out at your place or something and give you your stuff. Love always Han.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ben’s surprising response<\/p>\n

Ben argued that he was \u201cvery amicable\u201d in his response to Han, and he was surprised to hear that she had claimed his texts were \u201cmean\u201d.<\/p>\n

He replied that he was \u201creally disappointed\u201d by how things unfolded, as he was \u201cleft in the dark\u201d with no communication and was unsure of his workload moving forward.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs you know, I’m the sole provider for my family, so being left to figure out that I was no longer needed at House 2 was incredibly frustrating, especially considering the time and effort I dedicated to helping make your vision a reality,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe uncertainty of having to restructure my work plans has been challenging, and I’m still trying to sort it out. I won’t be returning to House 2 for several reasons, with working alongside Shannon being high on the list.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ben’s insult towards Shan<\/p>\n

Ben went on to say that Shan is \u201ceasily the top 10 w**kers\u201d he\u2019s ever met, adding: \u201cBut I’m sure he’ll be able to handle whatever work you need out there, and heaps easier and better than I ever could (just ask him).<\/p>\n

\u201cAs for my belongings, I plan to come out in the next few weeks to work with some of the other contestants, and I’ll grab everything then. It’s a shame things didn’t go the way I’d hoped for the Block experience. Thanks again for reaching out, and take care.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Han told producers that she didn\u2019t want to unpack the drama and was more than happy to move on.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just don\u2019t want to revisit it. I\u2019m done with it, I\u2019ve grieved it,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
