It could be an Easter weekend to remember for all of the wrong reasons as Storm Dave is set to bring very bad conditions across the country tomorrow, with a Status Yellow wind warning in place for the entire country.<\/p>\n
The warning comes into effect at 2pm tomorrow, and Met \u00c9ireann is warning that coastal areas will be hit particularly hard, with severe gusts and gales. The warning stays in place until midnight and if you are travelling tomorrow, the advice is to do it early on in the day.<\/p>\n
The possible effects of Storm Dave include:<\/p>\n
some fallen trees, branches\u00b7Wave overtoppingDifficult traveling conditionsDebris, loose objects displaced<\/p>\n
There could be disruption to road, rail, flight and ferry transport over the course of the storm and the risk of damage to property. CorkBeo will be bringing you live updates of the storm through tomorrow.<\/p>\n
There is some good news for Munster, the latest track of the storm seems to be taking it to the north west and across the North of Ireland.<\/p>\n
Senior forecaster Gerry Murphy said the northwest will bear the brunt of the storm, but it will be windy everywhere, especially from early afternoon onwards.<\/p>\n
Speaking on RT\u00c9’s Morning Ireland, he said counties Sligo, Dnegal, Leitrim, along with Derry and Antrim, are “going to get some very strong winds through the evening”.<\/p>\n
“The wind will be the major feature tomorrow and in addition to that, people need to be aware of waves as well.<\/p>\n
“We will be in spring tides. We will have high tide during tomorrow afternoon, coupled with those very strong winds.<\/p>\n

TODAY – Friday 3rd April<\/p>\n
Mostly cloudy with outbreaks of rain and drizzle clearing eastwards across the province through the morning, with a clearance to sunny spells and scattered showers following for the afternoon.Highest temperatures of 9 to 14 degrees, with light to moderate westerly winds, fresher for a time near coasts.<\/p>\n
TONIGHT<\/p>\n
Quickly becoming cloudy tonight, with outbreaks of rain and drizzle spreading northeastwards across the province during the second half of the night.Lowest temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees, but increasing through the night with the arrival of the cloud. Light southerly or variable winds will freshen in the southwest towards morning.<\/p>\n
TOMORROW – Saturday 4th April<\/p>\n
Storm Dave will bring very windy and wet weather on Saturday. Southerly winds, veering southwesterly, will become very strong and gusty through the day. The strong onshore winds coinciding with high waves and high tides will give risk to wave overtopping and coastal flooding. Outbreaks of rain and drizzle will move northwards in the morning, before heavier and more persistent rain will spread eastwards across the province through the afternoon with spot flooding possible. A clearance to scattered showers will follow later in the evening. Highest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees.<\/p>\n
National Outlook<\/p>\n
Overview: Continuing unsettled for the remainder of the Easter weekend and into next week. It will be breezy or windy, and also wet, at times. However, there will also be some brighter weather, especially on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Saturday night: Starting off wet and windy. However, the rain will soon clear, followed by clear spells and scattered showers, some of which may fall as hail or sleet on higher ground. A cold night with lowest temperatures of 0 to 4 degrees, with winds becoming westerly and easing overnight.<\/p>\n
Sunday (Easter): A bright and breezy day with sunny spells and scattered showers. Some of the showers may be of hail or sleet early in the day on higher ground. The showers will become more isolated towards evening. Feeling cool with highest temperatures of just 7 to 10 degrees, with moderate to fresh westerly winds easing in the evening.<\/p>\n
Sunday night: A dry night for most. While it will start off mostly clear, cloud will build from the west through the night. Outbreaks of rain and drizzle may encroach on some Atlantic coastal areas towards morning. Lowest temperatures of 0 to 4 degrees, but increasing through the night with the arrival of the cloud. Light southerly winds will freshen through the night.<\/p>\n
Monday: A windy day, it will be generally dull with patchy outbreaks of light rain, drizzle and mist. Some brighter spells may develop later in the day. Feeling milder with highest temperatures of 10 to 14 degrees, with fresh to strong southerly winds.<\/p>\n
Tuesday: Current indications for a wet and breezy day with widespread outbreaks of rain. Highest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees, with moderate to fresh southeasterly winds easing towards evening.<\/p>\n
