Popular content creator Paul_IsItWorthIt took a trip to Marco Pierre White Steakhouse & Grill on Dawson Street where the price of two items caught him off guard\"Paul<\/p>\n

\u2018Ireland\u2019s most honest food reviewer\u2019 visited Marco Pierre White\u2019s Steakhouse & Grill \u2014 but the \u201ccrazy\u201d price of his cup of tea and dessert floored him.<\/p>\n

The Youtuber, known as Paul_IsItWorthIt, recently tried Jamie Oliver\u2019s Italian in Dundrum<\/a>, and he said the reaction to it was way bigger than he expected, so he decided to test out another Dublin<\/a> based restaurant named after another famous chef.<\/p>\n

Arriving in the early afternoon, Paul was able to take advantage of the lunch special menu<\/a>, where a beef sirloin steak and chips, which came with b\u00e9arnaise sauce and dressed watercress, was \u20ac35.<\/p>\n

Although Paul claimed the cost was \u201chefty\u201d, he said Dawson Street was one of the most expensive in Dublin, and so it wasn\u2019t a surprise.<\/p>\n

He said the chips were crispy, crunchy and salted but after cutting into his steak, he made an immediate observation.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet me know,\u201d he said. \u201cI think that\u2019s, I\u2019m just an average Joe, I think that\u2019s slightly over medium. You let me know at home.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, he said there was a pleasant chargrilled flavour from the meat, and while he would have preferred peppercorn sauce to b\u00e9arnaise sauce, he said it was still nice.<\/p>\n

For dessert, he got a chocolate fondant, and said the gooey chocolatey inside was delicious, but he claimed the exterior was \u201ca bit stale\u201d.<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cThe ice cream is unbelievable. My face sometimes looks like I\u2019m squinting or something when I\u2019m doing this. The quality of the chocolate is so high, you know, when it just goes everywhere it\u2019s too rich and indulgent.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love chocolate, but I don\u2019t love that rich indulgent sort of chocolate as much as I just love normal chocolate.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cThe first bite is nice but I\u2019ve got three bites and it\u2019s already too much for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

He summarised his thoughts outside the restaurant, where he analysed the bill, and claimed \u20ac25 for the steak would have been a fairer price.<\/p>\n

However, he speculated that the extra \u20ac10 probably came from the location and the famous name on the restaurant.<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cIt was really good quality steak, cooked nicely, chargrill is always fantastic.\u201d<\/p>\n

But as for the dessert, which cost \u20ac14, and his breakfast tea, which was \u20ac4.25, Paul was left unimpressed, after it took his total bill to a \u201cpricey\u201d \u20ac56.50.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cI would give the price four out of 10. I think it\u2019s really expensive. I think \u20ac14 for a dessert is crazy money. It is. And \u20ac35 for steak and chips, that\u2019s a special offer in the daytime, so if you are going at night, it\u2019s actually more expensive than that. So I\u2019m taking that into consideration.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, he said the experience was good, and he said their server, Alisandra, was particularly accommodating.<\/p>\n

As for his meal, he concluded on the video<\/a>: \u201cI would give it a seven out of 10. I think the taste is good. It\u2019s good. It\u2019s good quality meat. But it\u2019s not astonishing. It\u2019s not mind blowing. And the dessert wasn\u2019t great for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Although it wasn\u2019t Paul\u2019s most memorable outing, Marco Pierre White Steakhouse and Grill has an average rating of 4.3 out of five on TripAdvisor out of almost 2,000 reviews.<\/p>\n

One recent visitor said: \u201cWe had a lovely night celebrating a birthday together. Tharyn looked after us so well from the moment we arrived and we couldn\u2019t have asked for better service or a better meal. The porterhouse steak was recommended to us and it was gorgeous.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another person who went in March added: \u201cThe atmosphere was so nice, we sat at the front window. The food was so delicious and Charlie and the manager couldn’t have been nicer. Well worth the money.
