Over 58,000 Irish players won prizes in Friday night’s draw<\/p>\n
Good Friday has just become a Great Friday for a lucky Irish punter who will claim over \u20ac1 million after the latest EuroMillions<\/a> draw.<\/p>\n While there was no winner of the EuroMillions jackpot, worth a whopping \u20ac83.4 million, over 58,000 players in Ireland won prizes in the EuroMillions and Plus games.<\/p>\n One of those winners will wake up on Saturday morning a millionaire after claiming \u20ac1,005,000 in the Ireland-only raffle event.<\/p>\n The winning raffle number was I-TLX-11633, with the National Lottery<\/a> likely to confirm the location of the winning ticket this weekend.<\/p>\n Nine other players claimed \u20ac5,000 as part of the Ireland-only raffle while the best of the rest as far as Irish punters are concerned were the 51 winners of \u20ac2,000 for matching four numbers in the EuroMillions Plus draw.<\/p>\n The big win comes after a Cork<\/a>-based syndicate this week collected a Lotto Plus Raffle prize of nearly the same amount, \u20ac1,000,500, after purchasing their ticket online for the March 14 draw. The group were absolutely thrilled to make the trip to National Lottery HQ to collect their prize.<\/p>\n \u201cWould you believe we thought we had just won \u20ac500? I only phoned the National Lottery team to confirm that amount,\u201d one of the syndicate members said.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen they told me the true value of the prize, I was speechless \u2013 pure shock! All I could say was \u201cYou\u2019re having a laugh?\u201d We were sure it was a joke, I had other syndicate members calling to confirm the win. It\u2019s taken days for the news to settle in, but we\u2019re over the moon!\u201d<\/p>\n A Westmeath <\/a>syndicate also claimed their Lotto Plus One top prize worth \u20ac1 million from the March 25 draw. Their winning ticket was purchased at Corrib Oil on the Ballymahon Road in Athlone.<\/p>\n The syndicate revealed they went to great lengths to keep the ticket safe in the days after the win.<\/p>\n \u201cAfter much debate, we eventually agreed that the safest place for the ticket was inside a coffee jar in the kitchen \u2013 a hiding spot no one would find!,\u201d one of the winning party said.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd any time I needed to pop out of the house, I brought the ticket with me, I didn\u2019t want to be without it.
