\n\tOver a year ago, Kanye West<\/a> said that his then-unreleased 12th studio album Bully felt like his personal version<\/a> of Lauryn Hill\u2019s seminal 1998 record The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYeah, because you lean on a bar that brings somebody down \u2014 that was always rap,\u201d Yeezy told Justin Laboy on The Download\u00a0podcast<\/a> in February 2025. \u201cThis is more the way I remember Lauryn Hill[\u2018s] album, the way I remember\u00a0Miseducation. I feel it is my\u00a0Miseducation. It is my Gnarls Barkley album. Because\u00a0Bully\u00a0has a title and connotation that a lot of people are anti-bully. But I\u2019m just hyper-next-level frequency right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWest\u2019s words came full circle during his second comeback concert<\/a> at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif. on Friday, April 3. Midway through the sold-out show at the 70,000-capacity venue, the rapper-producer now known as Ye brought out the one and only Ms. Hill, who materialized amid a cloud of smoke in a billowing dress. As the duo stood atop the orb-shaped stage mirroring Earth, the crowd swelled with cheers as they dived into a stunning performance of \u201cAll Falls Down.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tYe gave a rare smile throughout the performance. Ye, a longtime fan of Hill, sampled her live album\u00a0MTV Unplugged No. 2.0\u00a0cut \u201cMystery of Iniquity\u201d on his Grammy-nominated 2004 single, \u201cAll Falls Down.\u201d At the time, he couldn\u2019t clear the original sample for the official release of the track and enlisted Syleena Johnson to re-sing the portions that featured on\u00a0The College Dropout<\/a> version.<\/p>\n

\n\tThen, on Friday night, after Hill delivered a passionate rendition of \u201cDoo Wop (That Thing)\u201d that transitioned into Ye\u2019s \u201cBelieve What I Say\u201d (which sampled the song from her debut LP), Ye surprised everyone by disappearing through a trapdoor to give Ms. Hill the floor. <\/p>\n

\n\tMs. Hill wasn\u2019t solo for long, however, and swiftly announced, \u201cI brought some people with me.\u201d Soon, her sons Zion Marley and YG Marley joined her. YG and Hill sang \u201cPraise Jah in the Moonlight,\u201d his 2023 debut single he co-wrote with his mother.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile Ms. Hill appearing alongside Ye sent sent shockwaves both throughout the packed audience at SoFi and online (the event was livestreamed on YouTube), Ye brought out more guests for back-to-back memorable moments. Earlier in the night, Travis Scott<\/a> joined him, appearing in a mask and wearing a shirt emblazoned with the words \u201cUnsane.\u201d The duo performed their collab track \u201cFather,\u201d which dropped on March 28 as the lead single from\u00a0Bully. Scott also delivered a performance of Utopia\u2018s hit track \u201cFein.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tYe followed it up with CeeLo Green, who performed the album\u2019s title track. Ye\u2019s daughter, North, who also made an appearance on day one, showed up for a second round to rap \u201cBless Me\u201d and \u201cPiercing on My Hand.\u201d In another special moment, Ye invited Andr\u00e9 Troutman to perform their song, \u201cAll the Love.\u201d<\/p>\n
