Tributes have been paid to a beloved Donegal Town publican following his passing last week.<\/p>\n
John \u2018Rodgey\u2019 McMenamin was the long-time owner of The Reel Inn, before moving on from the business last year.<\/p>\n
He passed away on the 29th of March, understood to be whilst he was away on holiday.<\/p>\n
John\u2019s remains are reposing today and tomorrow at his former residence at Castleogary, Inver \u2013 however, he made one final stop at The Reel Inn last night as dozens of locals and friends showed up to pay their respects.<\/p>\n
Music was also played, as John was a well-known musician, and had made The Reel Inn a prime local spot to hear some trad or folk music.<\/p>\n

The death has occurred of John Rodgey McMenamin, Castleogary, Inver and formerly of Aghyaran. Tragically on the 29th March 2026.<\/p>\n
He was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by his wife Denise, his four sons; Paul (Gr\u00e1inne), Stephen, Benny (Edel), Denis (Enya), his three step-daughters; Shannon (Shane), Rachel and Ciara (Paul), his beautiful grandchildren; Amy (Jamie), Shea, S\u00e9an, Kian, Conor and Riley.<\/p>\n

Remains will be reposing at his late residence in Castleogary, Inver (F94YE00) from 1pm on Saturday 4th April and all day Sunday 5th April.<\/p>\n
Removal from there on Monday 6th April, going to St. Nauls Church, Ardaghey for Funeral Mass at 11am, with interment afterwards in the local cemetery.<\/p>\n
