An American Airlines flight bound for New York\u2019s JFK International Airport was forced to make an unscheduled landing at Dublin Airport on Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n

DUBLIN \u2013 American Airlines flight AA105, operated by a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner (registration N849AN<\/a>), departed London Heathrow<\/a> (LHR) at 13:54 BST. After taking off from runway 27R, the aircraft reached its cruising altitude of 36,000 feet as it transitioned over Irish airspace.<\/p>\n

Just as the crew prepared to begin the transatlantic crossing, they contacted Air Traffic Control (ATC) to report a medical situation involving a passenger or crew member. To ensure the individual received immediate care, the pilots executed a U-turn over Ireland.<\/p>\n

Arrival in Dublin<\/p>\n

The aircraft touched down safely on Dublin<\/a>\u2019s runway 28L at approximately 15:44 local time, roughly one hour and 50 minutes after its initial departure from London then taxied to gate 305.<\/p>\n
