The famous pair of bald eagles living in Big Bear Valley, California\u2014Jackie and Shadow\u2014are welcoming their first chick of the year as we speak. It\u2019s hatch day for their baby eaglet, which is not considered fully \u201chatched\u201d until it is free of eggshell. Meanwhile, Jackie and Shadow\u2019s second egg has a \u201cpip\u201d (a crack), so chick #2 is certainly coming soon.<\/p>\n
