Saturday Night Live<\/a>\u2018s Weekend Update<\/a> roasted Pam Bondi after Donald Trump<\/a> fired her as attorney general<\/a> this week, and took aim at Vice President JD Vance\u2019s book about how he decided to become a Catholic at age 34.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis week, Attorney General Pam Bondi was asked to redact herself from her job,\u201d Colin Jost<\/a> began. \u201cPresident Trump reportedly fired Bondi over her handling of the Epstein files, because the only person Trump has trusted to handle the Epstein situation was a prison guard with the cameras off.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jost then alluded to an undated photo from the Epstein files of Trump with several women whose faces were blacked out.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I was Trump, I\u2019d be mad too, if someone took a Sharpie and drew all over my favourite memories,\u201d he joked.<\/p>\n

Later, Jost took aim at Vance\u2019s new book, Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Catholic Church is calling it, \u2018Somehow the worst publicity we\u2019ve ever had,\u2019\u201d he joked.<\/p>\n

Vance\u2019s views on immigration were criticised by<\/a> Pope Francis, and Pope Leo XIV has done the same.<\/p>\n

Last February, at the National Catholic Prayer Breakfast in Washington, Vance\u00a0called himself<\/a>\u00a0a \u201cbaby Catholic,\u201d acknowledging there are \u201cthings about the faith that I don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n

Also in the segment, co-anchor Michael Che<\/a> took a shot at Trump\u2014figuratively speaking.<\/p>\n

\u201cTrump went to the opening night of Chicago at the Kennedy Center, and I think that\u2019s cool\u2014that the president is going to the theater,\u201d he said suggestively. \u201cI mean, what\u2019s the worst that could happen?\u201d<\/p>\n
