Colbert noted that sources claimed Trump was particularly frustrated over Bondi\u2019s handling of the Epstein files. \u201cSaying that the villain of the Epstein files is Pam Bondi is like saying the lead in Die Hard is the dad from Family Matters,\u201d he quipped.<\/p>\n
The comedian then broke out his Trump impression as he read the president\u2019s Truth Social post announcing Bondi\u2019s firing. \u201cWe love Pam, and she will be transitioning to a much-needed and important new job in the private sector, to be announced at a date in the near future,\u201d Trump\u2019s post read.<\/p>\n
Colbert continued with his impersonation, adding, \u201cIt\u2019s a much-needed job at a very important farm upstate. There\u2019ll be lots of room for her to run around. Unfortunately, we can\u2019t go visit her. Now let\u2019s go to the strip mall and get you a new attorney general, buddy.\u201d<\/p>\n
Elsewhere in his monologue, Colbert touched on Trump\u2019s address to the nation on Wednesday (April 1), highlighting how the president seemed to contradict himself over his plans for the Iran war. In one part of the speech, Trump promised to \u201chit them extremely hard\u201d and \u201cbring them back to the Stone Ages,\u201d while at the same time saying \u201cdiscussions are ongoing.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cHuh? Holy whiplash, Batman,\u201d Colbert responded before busting out an 80s pro-wrestling style promo. \u201cI got a message for Dr. Bone Smasher! When I meet you in the ring tomorrow night, brother, I\u2019m gonna crush your spine into a fine powder, then cut it into lines and snort it up!\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAlso, Carol and I are doing a small brunch thing tomorrow at our place. We\u2019d love you to come and bring the fam!\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
