Hokum, the new horror from Irish writer-director Damian McCarthy (Oddity), will be released in cinemas on Friday, 1 May. <\/p>\n

Hokum stars Severance’s Adam Scott alongside Love\/Hate’s Peter Coonan, House of Guinness’ David Wilmot, The Walking Dead’s Austin Amelio, and Dublin Murders’ Florence Ordesh.<\/p>\n

“When reclusive novelist Ohm Bauman (Scott) retreats to a remote Irish inn to scatter his parents’ ashes, the staff’s tales of an ancient witch haunting the honeymoon suite take hold of his mind,” says the synopsis.<\/p>\n

“Soon, disturbing visions and a shocking disappearance draw him into a nightmarish confrontation with the darkest corners of his past.”<\/p>\n

Hokum recently received its world premiere at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Conference & Festivals in Austin, Texas.<\/p>\n

Dublin company Tailored Films is among the producers, and the film is supported by F\u00eds \u00c9ireann\/Screen Ireland. <\/p>\n
