If you were hoodwinked by The Drama<\/a>\u2019s marketing campaign, you are not alone. Instead of promoting\u00a0the movie around its big, provocative reveal, the people behind Kristoffer Borgli\u2019s dark comedy opted instead to focus on the fact that it\u2019s about a couple getting married. There was a pop-up wedding chapel in Las Vegas, the film\u2019s stars did a relationship-hotline video, and Zendaya<\/a> dressed in \u201csomething old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue\u201d at various press events. How were you supposed to know that, 25 minutes into the movie, Zendaya\u2019s character, Emma, would reveal that she once planned (and almost carried out) a school shooting?<\/p>\n

If you thought this was a crazy and\/or objectionable turn for the movie to make, you have a powerful ally: JT<\/a>. \u201cAt first I was blushing like awww look at these two cute dorks,\u201d the rapper wrote on Letterboxd. \u201cI was ready for them to have a quirky fun relationship & to tickle my stomach with butterflies! (No I did not watch the trailer & yes I know what type of movies A24 put out) anywho it takes a questionable twist like 30 minutes in that gag me so bad that I get paranoid!\u201d JT\u2019s paranoia was not helped by the fact that there was apparently a man sitting by himself in her row \u201cwith a backpack & NO popcorn.\u201d (Thankfully, he turned out to just be a man seeing a movie by himself.)<\/p>\n

JT continued to unpack her thoughts about the big reveal on TikTok, where she said, \u201cwhoever produced that movie with Zendaya in it need to go to jail \u2026 call the police, call the police on they ass right motherfucking now.\u201d<\/p>\n

That being said, she seems to have come out a more positive impression than some viewers. At the end of her Letterboxd review, JT wrote, \u201cThe director need to be in an interrogation room! Overall a must see if you wanna have something to think about!\u201d Not exactly a pan. In fact, based on the movie\u2019s edgelord vibes, it\u2019s probably Borgli\u2019s ideal reaction. A24 should consider putting that quote on the poster.<\/p>\n
