The driver of one vehicle, a man in his late 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
His body has been removed to Louth County Hospital, where a post-mortem examination will take place, garda\u00ed said.<\/p>\n
A woman in her 20s, who was travelling in the second car, was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n
The scene is preserved for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, and traffic diversions are currently in place.<\/p>\n
A man in his 50s also died in Co Cork over the weekend.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed are appealing for witnesses of the single-vehicle crash in Castletownroche yesterday.<\/p>\n
The accident occurred at 12.50pm and the driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
His body was removed to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem examination was due to take place.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, a technical examination of the scene was carried out by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.<\/p>\n

In Dublin, a pedestrian in her 40s was seriously injured after she was hit by a bus shortly after 10am yesterday.<\/p>\n
The incident happened in Terenure, Dublin 6. The woman was taken to Beaumont Hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n
On Saturday, garda\u00ed issued an appeal in relation to a fatal accident in Dublin the previous week, in which a woman in her 80s was hit by a bus.<\/p>\n
They are appealing for witnesses following the incident at the junction of Main Street and Bath Place, Blackrock, Co Dublin, on Wednesday, March 25, shortly before 1.10pm.<\/p>\n
The woman was taken to St Vincent\u2019s University Hospital, where she died on Friday morning.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed also issued an appeal for witnesses of a single-vehicle crash on the R392 in Ballymahon, Co Longford, shortly after midnight on Sunday, March 29.<\/p>\n
A man in his 30s, the sole occupant of the car, was taken to Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore for treatment. He died in hospital on Friday.<\/p>\n
In the first four days of a Garda Roads Policing Operation being carried out over the Easter period, garda\u00ed arrested 138 people for driving under the influence of an intoxicant.<\/p>\n
More than 3,000 drivers were detected speeding during the same period.<\/p>\n
Notable speeds detected on Sunday included 138kmh in a 50kmh zone on Cashel Road, Cahir, Co Tipperary; 98kmh in a 60kmh zone on Dangan Road, Tullamore, Co Offaly; and 117kmh in an 80kmh zone on the N4, Doddsborough, Lucan, Co Dublin.<\/p>\n
