Savannah Guthrie<\/a> returned to the\u00a0Today\u00a0show anchor desk on Monday, appearing for the first time in over two months since her mother\u2019s disappearance<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Guthrie was surrounded by viewers wearing yellow ribbons in honour of her missing 84-year-old mother and holding signs that read, \u201cWelcome back, Savannah.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also wore a yellow dress in honour of her mother and the flowers left at her mother\u2019s home.<\/p>\n

The morning show host, who has been a\u00a0Today\u00a0host since 2012, read the morning\u2019s biggest headlines and said, \u201cWe are so glad that you started our week with us and it\u2019s good to be home.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her co-host, Craig Melvin, who was wearing a yellow tie, said that \u201cit\u2019s good to have you back at home.\u201d<\/p>\n

Guthrie stepped away from her\u00a0Today\u00a0show role in early February after her mother Nancy Guthrie<\/a> was reported missing on Feb. 1<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Authorities believe Nancy Guthrie was kidnapped, abducted or otherwise taken against her will<\/a> after finding blood near the doorstep of her home in the foothills outside Tucson, Ariz. The FBI later released surveillance videos<\/a> showing a masked man on the porch that night.<\/p>\n

The Guthrie family has offered a US$1 million reward for information leading to the recovery of their mother.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, Guthrie said \u201cI still believe\u201d as she delivered an Easter video message<\/a> at a New York church during service.<\/p>\n

During her speech, Guthrie spoke about the struggles she faces as she continues to wrestle with the unknowns surrounding the disappearance of her mother.<\/p>\n

Guthrie spoke about having moments of \u201cdeep disappointment with God\u201d and \u201cthe feeling of utter abandonment.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cRecently, though, in my own season of trial, I have wondered, I have questioned whether Jesus really ever experienced this particular wound that I feel,\u201d she said. \u201cThis grievous and uniquely cruel injury of not knowing, of uncertainty and confusion and answers withheld.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIn those darkest moments,\u201d she continued, \u201cI have thought bitterly, and perhaps irreverently, that I have stumbled upon a feeling that Jesus did not know.\u201d<\/p>\n

Guthrie noted that perhaps her message was \u201ctoo dark a message to share on Easter morning\u201d but said she has \u201clong believed that we miss out on fully celebrating resurrection if we do not acknowledge the feelings of loss, pain, and, yes, death.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is the darkness that makes this morning\u2019s light so magnificent, so blindingly beautiful,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Guthrie told Hoda Kotb last month that she questioned if her mother\u2019s disappearance was \u201cbecause of me<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

In her first sit-down interview since Nancy\u2019s disappearance, Guthrie recalled the moment she received a phone call from her sister Annie Guthrie, who told her that her mom was \u201cmissing,\u201d during a segment of Kotb\u2019s Today\u00a0show interview<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI said, \u2018Is everything OK?\u2019 And she said, \u2018No, Mom\u2019s missing.\u2019 And I said, \u2018What? What are you talking about?\u2019 She said, \u2018She\u2019s gone.\u2019 She was in a panic. I was in a panic,\u201d Savannah told Kotb. \u201cWe thought that she must have had some kind of medical episode in the night, and that somehow the paramedics had come.\u201d<\/p>\n

Guthrie\u2019s brother Charles Camron Guthrie, whom she described as \u201cbrilliant\u201d with a military background, was the first to suggest that their mom was kidnapped for ransom.<\/p>\n

\u201cDo you think because of me?\u201d Guthrie recalled saying to her brother. \u201cAnd he said, \u2018I\u2019m sorry, sweetie, but yeah, maybe.\u2019 But I knew that. We still don\u2019t know, honestly, we don\u2019t know anything.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut it\u2019s because she\u2019s my mom, and somebody thought, \u2018Oh, that girl, that lady, has money, we can make a quick buck.\u2019 I mean, that would make sense, but we don\u2019t know, which is too much to bear, to think that I brought this to her bedside. That it\u2019s because of me. And I just say \u2018I\u2019m so sorry, Mommy.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m sorry to my sister and my brother and my kids and my nephew and Tommy, my brother-in-law,\u201d a tearful Guthrie said.<\/p>\n

The Today\u00a0show host had said her family is in \u201cagony\u201d<\/a> as the search for her mother continues.<\/p>\n

Guthrie said \u201csomeone needs to do the right thing\u201d and come forward with information to help the investigation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are in agony. It is unbearable and to think of what she went through,\u201d a tearful Savannah said in a portion of her first interview<\/a> shared on the\u00a0Today\u00a0show last month.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wake up every night in the middle of the night and in the darkness I imagine her terror and it is unthinkable but those thoughts demand to be thought,\u201d Guthrie said. \u201cAnd I will not hide my face. But she needs to come home now.\u201d<\/p>\n
