Broadcaster Brendan Fevola<\/a> says he knew Kyle Sandilands would be a failure in Melbourne.<\/p>\n

Sandilands<\/a>, who has been sacked from KIIS FM<\/a> along with his co-host Jackie O Henderson, was one of Fevola\u2019s most vocal critics.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think he\u2019ll be right, and that\u2019s just him. He did fire back and put people to the sword,\u2019\u2019 Fevola said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe went about our business and didn\u2019t worry about them coming in from Sydney. It\u2019s a different market in Melbourne, not really suited to his style, and we just stuck to our game plan.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fevola\u2019s FOX FM breakfast team enjoyed a spike in the last radio ratings survey.<\/p>\n

The Carlton great used his first day of leave to visit Kangaroo Island with his family ahead of Gather Round in South Australia.<\/p>\n

With an itinerary including dolphin swims, checking out Seal Bay, The Cliffs (KI\u2019s new golf course) and more, and so far he is impressed.<\/p>\n

He\u2019ll be crossing live into the Gather Round Spectacular show on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve never been and it\u2019s an amazing place,\u2019\u2019 Fevola said. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe pure nature of it all is really exciting, loving the seals, the wild park and sea lions. The girls were meant to go with Alex to Italy with Runway Room but they cancelled with everything going on in the world.
