Alissa Fay was left red-faced on Tuesday’s Married At First Sight after being forced to deliver her final vows to an empty room.<\/p>\n

After her groom David Momoh, 31, revealed he didn’t see a future with Alissa, 33, outside of the experiment, he brutally left her standing alone at the altar<\/a> to process the rejection.<\/p>\n

It seemed to come as quite a shock to Alissa, who had earlier hinted that she was going to walk away.<\/p>\n

Speaking to producers, Alissa revealed that she was still hurt by David taking off his wedding ring<\/a> after the pair clashed over Alissa’s flirty behaviour during the Grass is Greener challenge.<\/p>\n

‘To see David take his ring off, it really hurt me because in real life you don’t do that,’ she said.<\/p>\n

‘I came here for love and was falling in love with this person, then my feelings have changed because of the events that have unfolded this week.’<\/p>\n

Walking into Final Vows, Alissa was quietly confident that David (pictured) would choose to stay in the relationship but it seemed that her mind was also made up<\/p>\n

Labelling David’s actions as ‘toxic’, Alissa added that she might still ‘be in love’ with David if the situation had unfolded differently.<\/p>\n

‘David being upset with that final test date was a big red flag for me,’ she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘Taking your ring off at the first sight of… seeing me having a good time socialising with other people, it’s toxic and I was like no, in the bin.’\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Walking into Final Vows, Alissa was quietly confident that David would choose to stay in the relationship but it seemed that her mind was also made up.<\/p>\n

‘Today is going to be tough for David,’ she said. ‘He missed the mark because he was a ‘yes’ man.’\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘The ball is in my court today, and it breaks my heart knowing I’m going to be breaking his heart at the end of this.’<\/p>\n

However, David beat his bride to the punch, brutally walking away before Alissa had a chance to read her vows.<\/p>\n

He began his vows praising Alissa and the strong connection the pair had forged during the experiment.<\/p>\n

Admitting that he still loved Alissa, David then delivered the final blow, telling his bride he chose his own peace over Alissa<\/p>\n

With that, David walked out of Alissa’s life, leaving her looking quite shocked and angry<\/p>\n

David then told Alissa that his feelings about their relationship had changed during the final commitment ceremony.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘I finally spoke up,’ he said.\u00a0‘You accused me of blindsiding you and in that moment I realised something important.’<\/p>\n

‘I wasn’t being heard. You couldn’t see I wasn’t attacking you \u2013 I was finally standing up for myself.’<\/p>\n

He added that their clash after the Grass is Greener challenge was the final nail in the coffin.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘You flirted, made inappropriate jokes and spoke poorly about me behind my back. I felt betrayed and disrespected by what I saw,’ he said.<\/p>\n

‘I challenged you and you shut me down. It felt as though you wouldn’t take any accountability for how I had felt.’<\/p>\n

David added: ‘Throughout all this, I’ve been patient, and I have done a lot of the listening, but I’m done listening.’<\/p>\n

Admitting that he still loved Alissa, David then delivered the final blow, telling his bride he chose his own peace over Alissa.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Alissa proceeded to read her vows aloud to an empty room, with David nowhere to be seen<\/p>\n

‘With you there was no version of me that could win. I’ve realised I can’t be the man who constantly fights to be heard or constantly fights to prove his worth to someone who is still deciding if I’ll be enough,’ he said.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘Today I’m not walking away because I’ve stopped loving you, Alissa. I’m walking away because loving you shouldn’t mean losing myself.’<\/p>\n

With that, David walked out of Alissa’s life, leaving her looking quite shocked and angry.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘You’re not going to listen to my vows?’ she asked as David continued to walk away in silence.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘That’s a no?’ she added.\u00a0‘Wow, I just wasted three months of my life and he won’t even listen to me.’<\/p>\n

Alissa proceeded to read her vows aloud to an empty room, with David nowhere to be seen.<\/p>\n

‘David, you are everything I wanted and more. You are strong, you are kind, you are compassionate, you are a leader, but standing here today I can only be honest,’ she said, her voice echoing around the room.<\/p>\n

‘I love you, David, for who you are but not for me.’<\/p>\n

Despite making the decision to leave, David admitted he was ‘heartbroken.’\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘There’s been so much pain that I’ve experienced in the last two weeks. I feel tremendously heartbroken.
