WOMEN\u2019S PREMIER DIVISION duo Maria Reynolds and Aoibheann Clancy have been called up to the Ireland squad alongside Sunderland midfielder Jamie Finn amidst a number of injuries.<\/p>\n

Shamrock Rovers centre-back Reynolds receives her first senior call-up, as Bohemians midfielder Aoibhe Brennan \u2013 who hit the same milestone last week<\/a> \u2013 is among those to drop out.<\/p>\n

Lily Agg and Jessie Stapleton are also withdrawn from Carla Ward\u2019s squad ahead of next week\u2019s 2027 World Cup qualifying double-header against Poland.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Agg confirmed over the weekend<\/a> that she had ruptured her Achilles in another cruel injury blow, having recently returned from a lengthy ACL layoff.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 32-year-old midfielder sustained the significant ankle injury in the first half of Durham\u2019s 2-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest two weeks ago, minutes after scoring her first goal for the club.<\/p>\n

Agg was named in the Ireland squad for the first time since late 2024 the following day, but has since been ruled out.<\/p>\n

Similarly, Stapleton is sidelined after limping out of the same WSL 2 game with what appeared to be a calf issue. The 21-year-old centre-back has regularly featured under Ward, but didn\u2019t play in the opening defeats to France and Netherlands.<\/p>\n

And 18-year-old midfielder Brennan, who had received her first international senior call-up, wasn\u2019t named in Bohemians\u2019 matchday squad for their All-Island Cup loss to Glentoran on Saturday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Their manager, Alan Murphy, said today:\u00a0\u201cAoibhe is obviously gutted to have to pull out of the squad. This is a cruel blow, but she is 18 years of age, has her whole future ahead of her, and her chance will come again.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe look forward to her inclusion in Ireland senior squads again in the not-too-distant future.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brennan was the only Women\u2019s Premier Division player in the original 24-player squad, with two now being added in her absence.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Shamrock Rovers centre-half Reynolds was part of the set-up as a training player for last November\u2019s Nations League playoff win over Belgium, but now receives her first official nod.<\/p>\n

Shelbourne midfielder Clancy has previously been involved under Ward and previous managers, making her Ireland senior debut in a friendly against Morocco in 2022.\u00a0<\/p>\n

And Finn is a regular squad member, the 21-cap midfielder presumably overlooked in the original selection due to her limited recent game time with Sunderland. The Dubliner did feature off the bench in last week\u2019s WSL 2 loss to her former side, Birmingham City.<\/p>\n

Ireland and Poland first meet in Gdansk next Tuesday, before the return tie at Aviva Stadium the following Saturday afternoon.
