Liverpool are in contact over a \u00a370m deal to sign Real Madrid star Eduardo Camavinga this summer, according to Sky Sports journalist Sacha Tavolieri.<\/a><\/p>\n

The Reds<\/a> have had a lacklustre campaign despite their record-breaking transfer window last summer, and are currently battling to qualify for the Champions League<\/a> next season, while they will face off against holders Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-finals of this year’s tournament, in their final chance to claim silverware.<\/p>\n

Despite speculation around the future of manager Arne Slot<\/a> though, the club are already planning their moves for the summer window, and a big move for Camavinga has emerged as a real option.<\/p>\n

Camavinga, who has been described as ‘extraordinary’ by Carlo Ancelotti<\/a>, is understood to be a player that Real Madrid are considering selling this summer, having grown frustrated by his lack of development in recent years.<\/p>\n

The France international is capable of playing in multiple midfield roles, as well as at left-back, but he has fallen down the pecking order at the Bernabeu, and the Spanish giants have now opened the door to a potential \u20ac80m (\u00a370m) move away in order to raise funds. <\/p>\n

As a result, Camavinga’s agency CAA Stellar have been in contact with clubs to discover if they’d be interested in signing the 23-year-old, with Liverpool understood to have been in talks about the conditions for a move, which has put them at the front of the queue for any deal.<\/p>\n

However, it’s reported that the former Rennes star is currently not open to a move away, and is instead fighting to save his ‘career dream’ by staying in Madrid. His current contract runs until 2029, and he is in no rush to leave.<\/p>\n

This year Liverpool have regularly been overrun in midfield, with Alex Mac Allister seemingly past his physical best, Curtis Jones not the most athletic, and Ryan Gravenberch dealing with an increased workload as the only holding midfielder Arne Slot trusts.<\/p>\n

Bringing in Camavinga would not only raise the floor of the options available at Anfield, but also raise the ceiling by bringing in a world-class option.<\/p>\n

A deal would be expensive, and it’s going to be difficult to convince him to make the switch, but if it’s possible, then Liverpool should be going all-out to get the deal done.<\/p>\n
