{"id":386885,"date":"2026-04-07T20:10:12","date_gmt":"2026-04-07T20:10:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/386885\/"},"modified":"2026-04-07T20:10:12","modified_gmt":"2026-04-07T20:10:12","slug":"dave-franco-oshea-jackson-jr-movie-shitheads-sets-release","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/386885\/","title":{"rendered":"Dave Franco, O&#8217;Shea Jackson Jr. Movie Shitheads Sets Release"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/dave-franco\/\" id=\"auto-tag_dave-franco_1\" data-tag=\"dave-franco\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dave Franco<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/oshea-jackson-jr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">O\u2019Shea Jackson Jr.\u2019s<\/a> movie <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-reviews\/the-shitheads-review-dave-franco-oshea-jackson-jr-1236487978\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">The Shitheads<\/a> is getting a new moniker ahead of its theatrical release.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tIndependent Film Company announced Tuesday that filmmaker <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/macon-blair\/\" id=\"auto-tag_macon-blair_1\" data-tag=\"macon-blair\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Macon Blair<\/a>\u2018s road comedy feature will be released theatrically under the title Idiots on Aug. 28. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/mason-thames\/\" id=\"auto-tag_mason-thames_1\" data-tag=\"mason-thames\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mason Thames<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/peter-dinklage\/\" id=\"auto-tag_peter-dinklage_1\" data-tag=\"peter-dinklage\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Peter Dinklage<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/kiernan-shipka\/\" id=\"auto-tag_kiernan-shipka_1\" data-tag=\"kiernan-shipka\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kiernan Shipka<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/nicholas-braun\/\" id=\"auto-tag_nicholas-braun_1\" data-tag=\"nicholas-braun\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nicholas Braun<\/a> round out the cast for the movie that premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tIdiots centers on Mark (Franco) and Davis (Jackson), a pair of ne\u2019er-do-wells who are hired to escort a rich teen (Thames) to rehab. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tBlair (The Toxic Avenger) helmed the movie from his own script. He produces the film alongside Franco, Alex Orr, Brandon James, Nathan Klingher, Ford Corbett, Joshua Harris and Mark Fasano. Blair recalled pitching the name to Orr before the script had been written and that it made the producer laugh. The director explained, \u201cI got attached to it and became unable to move away from it, so it just stuck.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tAdded Franco, \u201cWe\u2019ve been waiting for someone along the way to tell us that we can\u2019t do it. But now we\u2019re here. It\u2019s out there.
