Garda\u00ed are renewing their appeal for information in connection with the murder of Emer O\u2019Loughlin on the 21st anniversary<\/a> of her death.<\/p>\n

On April 8th, 2005, human remains were discovered in a mobile home close to where O\u2019Loughlin, then aged 23, lived with her boyfriend at Ballybornagh, Tubber in Co Clare<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The mobile home had been destroyed by fire. Human remains discovered inside were later identified as being O\u2019Loughlin\u2019s.<\/p>\n

On May 19th, 2010, investigating garda\u00ed<\/a> exhumed her remains, which were then removed to University Hospital Galway where forensic anthropology tests were conducted. <\/p>\n

The tests indicated that she had died a violent death, and as a result, the investigation was upgraded to murder.<\/p>\n

Two decades on, O\u2019Loughlin\u2019s family are still struggling to come to terms with her loss and is asking for assistance.<\/p>\n

Garda\u00ed are asking the public if they have any piece of information they feel might be relevant to the investigation to make contact.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you believe you\u2019re maybe in a position to bring closure and get justice for them, garda\u00ed would like to hear from you,\u201d they said. <\/p>\n

\u201cDo you have any information that may assist with the investigation? Garda\u00ed may have spoken to you previously and due to the passage of time, you may now feel better placed to assist with the investigation.\u201d <\/p>\n
