\n\t\u201cSpider-Man: Brand New Day<\/a>\u201d may have officially wrapped production last year, but Tom Holland<\/a> revealed that the film did some additional photography recently to add in \u201cmore humor\u201d and beef up a \u201cvillain plotline.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a new interview with GQ<\/a> for his campaign with fitness brand Vuori, Holland said he was in London to shoot additional scenes for his highly anticipated fourth Spidey movie.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI can positively say that the stuff we\u2019re doing, we don\u2019t need,\u201d he said. \u201cThe movie works and sings as it is. We\u2019re just adding the icing on the cake in certain areas. We\u2019re finding some ways to add a little bit more humor. We\u2019re layering in a villain plotline in a new way and some really fun stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cSpider-Man: Brand New Day\u201d is set to hit theaters July 31 via Marvel and Sony Pictures. Its trailer dropped<\/a> last month and quickly made history, becoming the first in history to cross 1 billion views<\/a>. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, \u201cSpider-Man 4<\/a>\u201d catches up with Holland\u2019s Peter Parker four years after the events of \u201cNo Way Home,\u201d when the world has forgotten that he exists. But as a powerful new threat emerges, Spidey has no choice but to suit up once again and finds himself reuniting with Mark Ruffalo\u2019s Hulk and Jon Bernthal\u2019s Punisher. \u201cBrand New Day\u201d also stars Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Tramell Tillman and Michael Mando.<\/p>\n

\n\tBut before \u201cSpider-Man,\u201d Holland has another blockbuster hitting theaters: Christopher Nolan\u2019s epic \u201cThe Odyssey,\u201d out July 17. Speaking with GQ, Holland called the film \u2014 which he stars in alongside Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya and more \u2014 an \u201cabsolute masterpiece.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s unlike anything that I\u2019ve ever seen before,\u201d Holland said. \u201cI think when I saw the movie, I found myself asking a question that I haven\u2019t asked about a movie for a long time, which is, \u2018How did you do that?’\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tHolland especially admired Nolan\u2019s commitment to practical effects. \u201cThere were certain sequences in the movie where I\u2019m watching it and I\u2019m just sort of thinking like, \u2018How on earth has he done that? That has to be CG,’\u201d he said. \u201cAnd then after the movie asking him, \u2018That was definitely CG, right?\u2019 And he\u2019s like, \u2018No, no, no, that\u2019s all in camera effects. Very planned, very prepared.\u2019 So I think fans are going to be really, really blown away by the set pieces and sequences throughout the movie, because even as someone that was there on the day and was in the film, I was absolutely blown away by the scale, the scope, his ability to navigate such an intricate and heartfelt story in the middle of this insane kind of action movie.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWith two huge movies coming out in cinemas soon, Holland also reaffirmed his commitment to the theatrical experience, saying it\u2019s something he wants to continue to emphasize in his career.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI am a real advocate for theatrical and the cinema and the communal experience of sitting in a dark room and being entertained,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd I think there are some studios that do a better job of that than others, and I\u2019m really keen to build relationships with those guys so that as a community, we can keep the cinemas going. I think that that is something for the next 10 years of my life that I will be very focused on.\u201d<\/p>\n
