A walk will take place at 11am on\u00a0 Saturday April 11 for Parkinson\u2019s Ireland in Templemore Park, one of 21 locations across the country to host such a fundraising event as people across Tipperary are being encouraged to support the organisation this April.<\/p>\n

April is Parkinson\u2019s Awareness Month, and this year the charity is launching its \u201cMeds on Time, Every Time\u201d campaign, highlighting the crucial role medication timing plays in managing Parkinson\u2019s Disease for the estimated 18,000 people living with the condition in Ireland. This figure is projected to double by 2050.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Tipperary walk will bring together members of the local Parkinson\u2019s community, their families, friends and supporters to raise vital funds and awareness. This year, the event is sponsored by Ireland\u2019s leading home care provider, Dovida.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Parkinson\u2019s Disease is an incurable progressive neurological disorder with more than 40 associated symptoms that can vary from person to person.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Mary Carey, a Tipperary branch committee member of the organisation said that \u201cthe importance of routine and planning when managing and living with Parkinson\u2019s leads to a better quality of life for both the person with Parkinson\u2019s and their family and friends.\u201d<\/p>\n

For people with Parkinson\u2019s, timing is everything when it comes to medication. The \u201cMeds on Time, Every Time” campaign highlights how crucial this is and aims to raise awareness and educate people living with Parkinson\u2019s, their care partners and healthcare professionals.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The charity has announced the return of its flagship fundraising event, \u2018A Walk in the Park for Parkinson\u2019s\u2019, a nationwide event raising awareness of the condition and funds for the vital services Parkinson\u2019s Ireland provides.\u00a0<\/p>\n
